After a cat's goal (from a free - who would have thought!) he vigorously shoved Johnson in the back with his forearm, in front of the umpire. Johnson reacted as if shot but bravely fought through the pain to accept his gift.

Stupid act, one that's repeated quite often as a point-scoring exercise after a goal by many of those in defence.

Not worth a free though IMO - and hasn't been in the other 179 games played this year.

But a foolish act nevertheless.

Upon reflection I think it's fair to say it was foolish rather than selfish.

It's a dime-a-dozen act and part and parcel of many games.

It was stupid no doubts as it was right infront of the umpire and we all know the maggots give frees like that, but if they are going to pay it the umpires have to pay it week in week out. It happens at every game, was a put on by Steve Johnson anyway.

i guess im the only one who enjoyed milne's hit (although a vigorous upercut to the stomach wouldve been nice) and then Blakey knockin the goal scorer down afterwards.

Aye, Winmarvellous, soft free

Yes Stupid thing to do but not worth any report.

Steve Johnson should so be reported for poor acting and the umpire involved cited for overbearing empathy.

This has happened dozens of times by all sides over the season without consequence. Umpires are getting petty midway through games.

Its a pity that they didnt show mor pity earlier when Geelong created many frees that wewrent called. Typical of the inconsistency of umpires at different stages of a game. They deliberately let early decisions go to avoid mis calls later. This smacks of lack of competnency in my book.

Geelong still deserves the win.

Midfield clearances and clear winners are needed to make an effective forward line.

You need to protect the ball handler to increase posession efficiency

Exactly. Was a soft free kick. No report. Would be suprised if he even gets a slap on the wrist from the coaching staff. Was silly I suppose but at that stage we weren't in the game anyway. Maybe it will make him think twice next time....probably did us a favour from that perspective.

What Milne did happens 20 times a game. Absolutely nothing in it and such pathetic diving has to be stamped out of the game.

Agreed, anyone who bags Milney for this has never played the game.

soft free kick. but the cats got a few of them, particularly early. it was as though the umpires had already decided there was only one team out there.

but credit to the cats. they're an awesome outfit.

Weak as piss free. Paid by umpire 30 - must have thought he was back at AAMI in the 2004 PF.

I reckon.

A foolish act from Milney. But it was a sign of sheer frustration no doubt.

Let's move on.

Happenned right in front of us (we had fence seats next ti cheersquad).

Nothing in it IMO, and deserved a Logie... not a kick. The ump was blinded by another Geelong player. Piss poor free kick.

Max's undisciplined 50m penalty was far worse.
