PM sent...

"Our season is still alive," Lyon said. "It's not the end for Robert."

Harvey's mates stood listening to those words, perhaps planning to keep the AFL's longest career lingering a while yet. Then turned into softcocks and blew it YET again.

how many actually have donated so far Mr Magic ?
dont need to know what they donated, just how many peeps?

24 as of yesterday (including the 2 I haven't identified as yet)
That averages out to about $30 per donation. That's awesome!
Well done to those who have shown support. :D :D

To the rest.... "SH!THOUSE EFFORT!!"
I can't believe only 24 members have put in.

50 posters at $20 each would have done it
100 posters at $10 each would have done it
200 posters at $5 each is all it would take

Same old story.. be it a footy club, school tuckshop, or an Internet forum.... too much gets left to too few...
You'd think anyone who's been here more than 2 years, or posted more than 1000 times would put their hand in their pocket.

It's pretty sad, n1ck.

Hats off to all who have put in.... but it equates to less than 1% of registered users. :(

a fiver from 10% would do it.

I think it is down right despicable that people here can call others , freeloader, etc.

Woop de doo ,,, you put your hands in your pocket !!! Good for you.

Have a think about others that may be on the absolute bones of there arse and this site is the only place they get real pleasure.
Families , mortgages, illness, disabilities, personal probnlems etc etc etc

Now these people (and believe me i am sure they exsist) probably feel ostracised by others. How do you think there feeling right now.

To the ones that can't afford it just now I say, sweet , don't worry. Its all swings and roundabouts.

To the others who have made the comments ,

Well done ! Hope you feel proud of yourselves.

Go support collingwood !!!!!

No argument from me, Vietnam_Saint. I have no doubt that many would find it tough to contribute and I don't think anyone would begrudge them being unable to do so.

However, I doubt very much that 99% of posters are; "on the absolute bones of their arse".
There are undoubtedly many posters who could afford to contribute, but have thus far chosen not to. It's these posters who should perhaps feel a little ashamed.

You've got to admit that 24 (possibly 30 now) from 2500 is a pretty sad effort.

If only 10% of forum members chucked in $5 each the target would have been reached easily. Do you think that's unreasonable?

Maybe we should give up the donation drive altogether and let this forum disappear.
After all, it's easier to do nothing isn't it.

To anyone who can't afford to contribute I say, relax, ignore the donation drive, keep enjoying Saintsational; and I hope your circumstances improve soon.

$5 a year...... $0.42c per month... $0.10 per week.... One cent per day and two cents every third day.

How many of those "Bare Bones" people smoke, drink, play the pokies, eat chocolate etc etc or otherwise waste the equivalent or greater of 10c per week?

Its a matter of priorities. If you get enjoyment from this site, you should be prepared to put your hand in your pocket.

I don't accept that Australians with a computer and internet access can't afford a fiver per year.

I know it may be far from ideal, but if you had an award system, like platinum, gold, silver member etc. under peoples names depending on donation level, you'd reach the target in a flash.

Even if you broke it down to $10 lots and had one award.... "Keeping SS alive".... or something.

Says Mr 103 on the all time total posts list!

I'm a little surprised with the uptake, I assumed there would be more offering less.

I said active, as in over the last 12 months.....

I think probably my last option is best, spreads the load and reduces the risk of any sense of rank or entitlement problems... (sadly) it's the sort of incentive more people will respond to.
