HELP SAINTSATIONAL - Donations for running costs!

Post: # 660018Post battye »

A few months ago I posted a message saying that we will need the support of the community to cover the costs of webhosting.

Mr Magic has been kind enough to offer his services in terms of collecting the money, so like the player sponsorships you are able to help the site by donating with several payment methods - depositing money directly into a bank account, cheque or cash.

If you send a PM to Mr Magic (click this link: http://www.saintsational.com/forum/priv ... ost&u=6583) he will pass on to you the required information (make sure you let him know your preferred payment method!)

We are looking to use a VPS, which will cost approximately $1000 a year, but it would be fantastic to raise as much as possible (so that the donation drives are infrequent, or in case we need to upgrade to a higher level server).

Thank you for your support! :D

Click here to send a PM to Mr Magic (be sure to include your preferred payment method in the PM)

Will there be any advertising on the site?
How much money could we make from a few links?

Mate, if it's only $1,000 a year for this site, there shouldn't be a problem at all IMO...

I would think most on here would easily chip in $20 or at worst most would chip in $5 and it covered IMO

I'm not sure how much Damien (saintsational) was paying for webhosting. The current webhost isn't all that good (good uptime though, it stops there) so I was looking at American hosts. American hosts are much cheaper than Australian hosts, and the American hosts I have dealt with in the past are far better than all other hosts I have dealt with.

I've just answered all the pm's I received overnight.

Once I have a little more information the picture should be a little clearer as to what amount we are trying to achieve.

Count me in, too.
I like fingers idea of some sort of recognition for the posters who support the forum financially.(ie. same as player sponsorship.)

If everyone wants to have a special rank that is not a problem... what would everyone like the rank to be? :)

F*** the rank, it's the site that is in question

I nominate" F*** MY RANK" as my persona,l or should I say "special rank"

and if PayPal can be organised that would be great...

signed Fid (F*** MY RANK)

Despite the allure of St Fids suggestion, (Rank Farker is so appealing), suggest Site Sponsor for those who contribute.

Personally I don't think we need any recognition.
I'm pretty sure that those that are capable of assisting will do so willingly without recognition.

As I understand it the fees have been paid for years by individuals without any recognition and I see no need to change that now.

Unless of course the recognition was along the lines of

Superior Intellectual Poster status :)

Missed the point completely.

It's not about 'rank'.

G.O's suggestion of 'Site sponsor' is all it needs.
Much the same as we have 'player sponsor' now.

There are those, myself included, who would be proud to show they support this site, just as were proud to be involved in player sponsorship.

Whatever the decision, I'm happy to contribute to keeping this site viable.

PEACE
