15 other clubs also said no to Gardiner, and about 6 other rejects on our list.

I hardly think that is a good gauge to this or Cousins' worth. Although it seems to be a popular line at the moment.
To compare BC's circumstances to the other "rejects" is farcical Rodge.

Why?
Because the other "rejects" did not come with the same baggage (except perhaps MG) as BC does. I thought that would be blindingly obvious.

So what's your position. Should we have taken him?
The same baggage? What's that? Premiership player? All-Australian? Brownlow Medal?

Nice baggage to have.
You know what I'm refering to. Recovering addict, association with underworld figures etc.

Smart@arse...

On the one hand you ridicule the club for taking rejects... then you ridicule them for not taking rejects.

Where did I say that?
I 'ridicule' the club for taking rejects who can't play football.

And I 'ridicule' them for not taking one that can.

Asked how he would have handled the Cousins situation, Thomas, who coached the Saints from 2001 to 2006, said: "I don't think we would have even got to the starting stalls."
he's right.

love him or hate him, he would have spoken for the club on this.

his insistence on being in control and making every decision cost him his gig in the end.

yes it was that, not his inability to take one of the best lists of the modern era to a flag

Isn't Thomas employed by SEN?

Doesn't he comment for a living?

Wasn't he involved with the STKFC for a decade until recently?

Thought he would be qualified to make a comment.

Dont like it, dont listen.

Lance or James??

There comes a point in every man's life when he has to say, "Enough is enough." For me, that time is now. I have been dealing with claims that I cheated and had an unfair advantage in <redacted>. Over the past three years, I have been subjected to a <redacted>investigation followed by <redacted> witch hunt. The toll this has taken on my family, and my work for <redacted>and on me leads me to where I am today – finished with this nonsense. (Oops just got a spontaneous errection <unredacted>)

a list that couldn't get on the field, the core of which was only just out of their teens.

but he certainly had them believing they were the best. i'd also give him, and butterss, a fair bit of credit for building that list in the first place.

What Thomas said (both in print and on radio last night) made a lot of sense.

St Kilda need to discard this Messiah Complex, believe in themselves, stand on their own feet and win it from within.

I'm quietly of the opinion that it is better we were disappointed with BC now, rather than in May or June next year.

I wouldn't have been disappointed with BC at all. No matter what happened. He was a low cost opportunity to pick up a potentially elite footballer.
