Anybody got any preferences on who or what typeof players we should take in the rookie draft? I thought we might be taking an Irishman, but apparently thats not on now.
I hope we pick up at least one indigenous player.

I'm hoping for Alex Silvangi. He is a defender who plays in the vfl and is afl ready at 21 years old.
192cm 92kg.

Hopefully Rockliff, Deboer, Pearce or Sibosado(was rated in Emma Qualye stop 25 players in this year draft) drop to us, but unlikely.

Rumour has it that we are going to take Zac Dawson. Delisted by Hawthorn this year. (Defender)

I would like to see Stanton get a chance. Good size and endurance. Aggressive and good overhead although will need a year in the gym most likley.

Will also need a mirror fitted in his locker...lol.

Dawson.

Silvagni is a VFL player and that's all.

I have an idea. Lets get neither as they will not help the side at all.

Agree with plugger here. Just find some kids with good attributes and see if we can't iron out their weaknesses.

No point in persisting with guys who have had their chance and didn't have the ability.

I am praying for Clancee Pearce, I really think he could become a very good AFL player...

Must turn 18 in before end of year and NOT turn 23 before end of year.
Dawson's date of birth is 22/02/1986

Dawson turns 23 next Feb, so I gather he is eligible

Daws must be the oldest 22 y/old in the comp.

Feels like he's been around forever.
Apparently a teacher at the school he went to said he couldn't believe he was picked up - wasn't even in the top 6 of the school side, let alone his TAC cup side.

the big question is 'Eljay' at just 65kg and is he in the gym yet?
turns nineteen on new years day and needs to put on about nineteen kilo if he wants to play in the AFL.
if Eljay is around the 80 kilo mark by mid 2010 i will be very surprised.
