This dick has picked us to finish 13th and this is what he's got to say

"The team in danger of the biggest slump. The loss of old boy, Robert Harvey, has the midfield looking far less imposing. Ross Lyon's squad is thin on pace, thin on quality talls and thin on quality talent"

is he related to Craig McDermott-

how many wickets has Chris taken?

bit like the bookies having the Aussies favourite for both the melb and Syd tests after being soundly beaten by Sth Africa in Perth.

Ex-Adelaide Crow, aweful commentator (for unlucky SA viewers) and dodgey nightclub owner. Was responsible for the wonderful comment 'the sooner they get rid of you bastards the better' to Fitzroy player's as they left the ground following their final match together. Great sportsman, lousy footy tipper.

Exactly ^

It's pretty hard at this time of year to predict where everyone will finish.
I mean, Port made a grand final in 07 then barely won a game last year.
Similar deal with the Eagles

If I read the rules for the 2009 main draft correctly picks 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25 will be the first round picks for the 16 existing clubs.
This after Gold Coast has taken the cream from Queensland.
Gold Coast also gets the other 9 first round picks.

Finishing 4th again would be "rewarded" with a lousy pick 22
Finishing 13th would get a so-so pick 10.

If the club isn't going to have a realistic tilt at the flag then it would be adviseable to start tanking early.
A wooden spoon would score a pretty decent pick 4 and probably a priority pick 26, and then the second 2nd round pick at pick 28 after Gold Coast.

That's very true...I guess he predicting that out of the retreads, second, third and debut players, they're gonna be short, slow and not much chop. This, of course, is quite possible.

To his credit, he has Crows with their old squad and lack of interesting recruits finishing in around about the same spot. However, thery look far more likely to slump to 13th than the Saints IMO.

I was lying (of course) when I said he was a good sportsman, but he is actually an ordinary tipper from memory...which works in our favour.
