5 prelims in 7 years. 40 wins from 49 games.
2009 and 2010 were 2 of the 5 best years ever by the St.Kilda FC.
Thanks for all your efforts Saints.

You noticed that also, did you?

Pretty poor effort. Never mind we kept them goaless for 2 quarters.

The lid is off after Round 2! Enjoy the journey, coz you just don't know where we'll end up. Live for today and seize the moment.

agree-

some people need to look further as to why; better to HAVE the ball than it get run faster back the other way by the opposition.

Hahahahaha - lol Kenny.

It was really evident just before Gilbo launched his long kick that Milney marked in the goalsquare and goaled :D :D

Morons were booing as the team switched play - which opened the midfield - which GZilbo ran through and launched - and by which Milney scored.

Suddenly the booing wasn't there :D

A great example of this was at the end of the 2nd quarter when we were chipping it around on the wing, then switched the play found Gilbert loose in the middle who passed to Milne on the goal line for a goal.
A great example of good modern footy. Yet all around me were screaming to kick it long and then feeling vindicated when Gilbert took the grab.
They didn't realise that this only happened cos we kept possession. Had we kicked it straight inside 50 the ball would have been turned over.

I'm getting pretty sick of the kick it up the guts brigade. They seem not to care for the modern game and dont really want to understand what is going on.

I honestly think the gap has never been wider between what your average footy fan perceives and what is actually happening on the field.
Maybe it's time for a bit of a tactics masterclass in one of the papers.

on a similiar line is the change in relation to Milney- for years people were telling him to take his time-- and kick for goal-- BUT he does better on the check side-- the crowd around me now call for him to run around....

I was so impressed with our composer during these times.....We successfully goaled from a few switch in plays!

Well done saints!

Lets share the run down of the comments.....

"KICK IT, JUST BLOODY KICK IT"

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING, YOU IDIOT"

"KICK IT THERE, KICK IT THERE" (Whilst pointing @ a player 100 meters away from the ball)

I'm sure there are many more, just thought I'd get something started.....

agreed but then you must not have ventured to many games at Linton St during the 80's. I saw some very rabid "supporters" back then, most of them in the Social enclosure.

as far as bombing it goes it has a lot to do with who is on the other end.

for example i wouldn't expect too many hawthorn supporters to complain if one of their players bombed it long to franklin one-out with his opponent.

it's risk v reward.

To be fair, I don't think a significant percentage of the booing would have come from the Saints fans. I reckon most of it would have come from the Swans fans - after all, don't we boo when other teams chip the ball around sideways patiently looking for an avenue to goal? I do.

see I don't get that...

when the opposition chips it around I am shouting encouragement for the effective zone (our zone was very v ery good in the second term).

But the booing was very funny when most could have just directed their view over to a hard work kosi creating the switch....

I will never ever boo the boys but one thing that does frustrate me is our absolute refusal to kick to a one on one contest. There were a few occasions when Kosi or Nick were both one out with their direct opponents but we instead kicked to a short or wide option which just gave Sydney the opportunity to drop more back. We should have confidence in these guys to either beat their direct opponent or at the very least bring the ball to ground and then allow our crumbers to feed. Sometimes we just move the ball too slowly
