Hey i watched on Fox Sports, and it was simply a snippet of what we are to expect in the pre-game interview tomorrow..

However, the only question they really showed was asking him how he plans to deal with "tagging" Cox... His response was that he will need to attack Cox the other way so as to make him more responsible too... He mentioned that it is Cox who normally dictates terms, so this means he has to try his hardest to reverse the roles.

finally got to sit and listen without distraction to the interview
Gards presented as an easy speaker - did not stumble or falter, spoke naturaly

Gerard Healey with Michael in outdoor setting.
G- welcome- you don't do much media
M- I couldn't tell you the last time I did an interview

G- Your playing good footy
M- after a couple of tough years I've had a good preseason and the first two games give us something to build on

G- one game in 2008 a shocker ( stated stats)
M-coming after 2 hamstrings, 2 calfs and a year off just wanted to contribute

G- did you discuss retirement after that game
M-very close, on top of all the injuries, spoke to several people, but decided as i didn't need any surgeries for the first time in years we'd see how I got through the pre-season and see how it was going

G- Coxy- put you to the sword last time
M- he is exceptional, including around the ground, , he's had 4-5 good seasons and uses the footy well, but I'm not getting ahead of myself.I'd like to be more than competitive

G-Ben,- your mates he is he travelling with the injury- have you a caught up with him
M -he's a friend and good he is back in football, doing his rehab and hopefully he can have an impact on field this year

G- good for each other on field, bad off it?
M - some would say that, but we've come along way, and just good mates so hopefully good for each other again

G- your looking good, playing well and all the best

Very honest interview. Love the comment that he thinks there's improvement after all his injuries. People thought that Kosi when he was fit might be our wildcard. This bloke might also be that wildcard. Or another one.

I remember a comment that Stinger made a couple of years ago. Gardiner tore us a 'new one' one day playing for the Eagles.....2002, 2003? He beat us pretty much on his own. Been wondering when and if that bloke might ever turn up again. If this guy stays durable, and improves........Well it would be handy....( trying very hard in Round 3 not to get ahead of myself)

He seems a very humble guy now.....and I've heard some bad stories about him. Most have......who knows. He has been a model Saint.....all the best to him.
