Sandy V Casey

Post: # 722148Post zebraman »

1/2 time scores

Sandy 8-10-58

Casey 7-4-46

Saints players that I've recognised so far playing

Stanley
Simpkin
Haretuku
McGarry
Smith
Connors

Stabnley has virtually rucked all day

Simpkin has gad a lot of the ball and is playing well

Haretuku likewise

McGarry likewise

Smith a tad quiet

Connors had a few touches very quick and skilful

1/4 time Seniors

sandy 9-4-58

Casey 2-3-15

Goalkickers

sautner 3
L.Fisher
McEvoy
Eddy
Gallagher
X.Clarke
Armitage

Zebras pretty dominant all over the ground...Haard to single out any players at the moment although Casey have developed a nice habit of leaving Xavier Clarke unattended in the forward 50

McEvoy and McGrath winning the ruck which is giving Sandy 1st use a lot of the time...and the tackling is fantastic

remind the casey players that the saints don't play with anymore

great to hear that the rucks are doing well. Important to note that tall players were never a strength for casey (springvale).

Good to hear, I hope he gets some touch and confidence back quickly because he's worked hard over summer only to cop an injury just prior to season commencing.

I'm with you GL.

Ross rates him highly for skill, just needs some time on ground and get the injuries out of the way.

Debut vs. Dees on the GC?

Interesting McGrath named as first ruck ahead of McEvoy. Is that how the team has lined up?

The named Sandy team may be a function of Big Ben being named as an emergency in the seniors?

Just got back from the game. Hard to gauge because it was so one-sided. X looks ready for AFL if required. Armo gets it a lot but occasionally butchers it. Robert Eddy looked good. Goose worked into the game and had a dominant 3rd Q. Ben McEvoy was the best ruckman out there. Heyne & Lynch did some nice things. RL lost interest and spent quite a bit of the last Q on his mobile.

Senoir players in attendance included; Joey, Lenny, Roo, Bakes, Gilbo, BJ !!

ventured down there with the old man, saw a fair few saints players in attendance, roo, lenny, bj, bakes (in wife beater and tan cargo shorts..got dressed up for the footy :P ), geary, gilbo, raph, etc.

played well overall, mcevoy had a knee injury and limped off early, but was back on in the 2nd quarter and played out the rest of the game, sad to see alex silvagni go off with a bad injury, so much for casey having 'the best defence in the league' with virtually no changes and to get 23 odd goals kicked on them is poor.

x was good, armo, heyne popped up for a couple of goals, including a great bomb from 50, lynch impressed with 3? goals i think, luke miles did well in defence as did goose, and being goose, did some terrible, terrible long bombs!!

great first up effort from the boys, and we're on abc tv next week v. frankston at 1.10 pm!
