NICK Dal Santo has had the world at his feet since being drafted in 2001. He is a gifted player who moves like silk, is beautiful with his feet and hands and sees the game unfold in front of him like very few do.

In the 1960s and '70s he would have been a great centreman. Highly skilled, a playmaker, able to create goals, a step off the pack, but able to win his own ball when need be.

Why then is he not talked about in the same breath as Chris Judd, Gary Ablett and Luke Hodge?

Why is it that a guy who finished third in the Brownlow in 2005 was dropped last year and put in the same class as Stephen Milne by his coach?

I remember trying to tackle him at Etihad Stadium once and being made to look absolutely stupid as he breezed pass me.

I immediately looked at the ground and blamed the shifting surface, but in reality the traction of Spiderman would not have helped me that day.
