I thought Ross said King won't play this week?

Must now be a chance to come up?

It seems that when fully fit, King will come straight back in without spending time in the 2's....

Probably 1 more week off to be safe...

He said at the press conference that they think King should come up, but that they haven't decided what they'll do with him if he does.

Thats what I herd untill I watched Lyon's press conferance where he thinks King should come up, and it will be either out of him or Big Mac.

Imo I think King for Big Mac would be the only change if any, and Mac would be unlucky, considering his essendon opponent would be 4 gamer Bellchambers.

Armo for Geary could be potentially another, i thought Geary played an average game on monday, but prior to that had been terrific.

Can't see too many changes.

I actually thought Geary was very good apart from one clanger kick and four acts of poor discipline.

However he would have to be a chance to go out.

Armo however didn't do enough to come in for mine, he got plenty of the ball but he stopped, propped, looked for a target, got frustrated then kicked it to a pack time and time again, his defensive pressure wasn't setting the world on fire either, the best calls for Armitage were all actually Begley, with the commentator getting them mixed up...

Geary has had some very tough games.

Remember he is only 20 and only small. May be time for a rest.

It is rare for guys that young and small to be able to play out a solid full season.

We now have an opportunity to rotate these guys.

Geary's acts of poor discipline involved a couple of very soft frees for arm chopping. I reckon he's safe - in fact, a long way from being replaced with Armo.

If King comes up he'll replace BM, otherwise, no change.

I hope he does stay in the side as I've been a huge fan since day one.

But he did give away 4 free kicks including one stupid push in the back when Corrie had already ran under the ball and one clothesline on Dane Swan which IMO was lucky not to give away a 50 or get reported...

I think Geary and Gwilt have both played well enough to keep their spots.

Selecting King in the 25 does not mean he will replace McEvoy.

It means that if either McEvoy or Gardiner were UNABLE to play the club would be able to choose to bring King in or go with one specialist ruckman.

The choice of emergencies is about keeping options open in case of the unexpected.
Any player or any of us could go down with the flu before the game.

However the unsanitarty condition of S--- & Dung should make it one of them.

Maybe king for McEvoy, otherwise nil changes. With inexperienced Essendon rucks, I'd like to see McEvoy given a fair dinkim go. Lets see what he's got. Following game is against Brisbane, who are also down on rucks.

Perfect opportunity to see how far McEvoy has advanced.

Doubt whether it will happen though !

Eddy did not play anywhere last week.
He could have been made an emergency but then the club would have been reluctant to hold him back from the VFL with only a slight chance of an AFL game.

If he seriously had gastro last week (does anyone believe that?) he should sue the restaurant big time.
He may not be able to break back into this super team and then miss out on a premiership medal.

I agree. Its hard to see Eddy coming back into the team ahead of two or three others. Whether gastro or what, he's pretty stiff.

Nope, I reckon this is the right top 25 ATM (leaving aside the positions in which they have been picked, which are fairly meaningless).

You'd want to see Goose play 2-3 more games as a forward before you would want to slot him in there at AFL level. And Eddy had a couple of mistake-riddled games and deserved to miss last week (although perhaps he's injured??)

If Raph and Armo are genuinely in the mix (and their naming near the start of the list of seven - which is not quite in alphabetical order - is striking), it will be interesting to see what Ross decides to do. The Bombers are quick, quick, quick, so I wouldn't think Armo is the go, but I reckon Raph could be extremely useful. I would go Raph for Geary rather than Gwilt as I think big bodies will help us against the Bombers.

But I reckon any combination of the 25 named will do us proud on Sunday.

Why?

Personally he would be struggling to make my best 32 let alone be in the 22!

Armitage and McEvoy are the two kids we need to get games into
ASAP IMHO FWIW!

This time one year ago, Bellchambers towelled up McEvoy in a game down at Casey Fields. I'd like to think they're about on par at the moment, big mac would love a shot at him.

Agree with all of this. I don't understand the calls for Gwilt to be replaced by Clarke. One's a pressuring forward, the other's a defender.

And not one player named....that I would not be happy to see play :)

And that says a lot in itself...

With Max and Goose also pushing up..plus Eddy.....beinga St Kilda selector for the rest of the year is going to bea job full of angst when trying to narrow down who should be in the final 22.

Personally I would like to see Raph in for Geary.
Also would like to see Big Mac have one more go with King resting for one more.
I think Raph is in our best 18 and could be in the top 10 by seasons end.
This said I think it will be no change or King in for Big Mac if King is good to go.
