Jarryd Allen back training !!
Just had a look at the training pics that Brat kindly put a link to. Good to see Jarryd Allen back out on the track. There were reports that he probably wouldn't play this year. Any updates? !!

Yes I posted an update a couple of weeks back..
Allen spoke in the SC and said then that he was hopeful of resuming playing in 6-8 weeks.
He felt good and just needed to get the specialists go-ahead.
He described his hip injury as being what the doctors normally saw from car-crashes rather than football matches.

he explained in detail in the Victory room
something along the lines of -put one foot down solidly and then inadvertantly jammed the other leg straight and the force went back through the hip. shattering the socket
others may remember better.

I would have thought that Allen was an entirely different player to Gwilt.barks4eva wrote:Potential gun player, great kick for goal, hope he gets back because he'd certainly be a much better option than Gwilt!
To me, Gwilt looks like he is being played as a Ryan OKeef type.
I thought Allen was much taller, aka Koschitzke type.
But as most, I havnt seen enough of him.

Couldnt help but feel sorry for the kid when he was injured in that final last year!
You could tell how excited and passionate he was walking onto that field, only for it to turn into looks of despair only minutes later...
Really hope he can get back sooner rather than later and play a strong role in our premiership defence next year!

The more you know, the more you know you don't know.
When I was a young child, I knew that I knew so much about so much.
Now that I am old and know so much more, I know that I know so much about so little, and so little about so much.

Still wont play seniors this year unless we have the most horrific injury crisis in history or he goes ballistic and starts kicking 6-7 goals every week
Goose has spent 10 rounds in the VFL..why would a bloke with just a couple of senior games to his name be vrought back any sooner?

I think a player can remain on the Long Term Injury List (LTI) until he's actually ready to play in the Seniors.undecided wrote:So does this mean miles is back on the rookie list and X is the only player on the long term injury list
Once you're put onto the list (LTI) you must remain on it for a minimum time (8 weeks?).
Also there is a new rule applying this year regarding Rookies.
I believe that after Rnd 12? each Club is allowed to upgrade 1 Rookie on to their main list without having to drop somebody off or place them onto the LTI list.
yep, that's true.Mr Magic wrote:I think a player can remain on the Long Term Injury List (LTI) until he's actually ready to play in the Seniors.undecided wrote:So does this mean miles is back on the rookie list and X is the only player on the long term injury list

and i think someone said we had a spare upgrade spot available this year because we only have one veteran.
so plenty of room for everyone!

Good news for Allen. From memory his pace wasn't the best. I hope that with this injury and it's rehab, the medicos etc have worked hard on his mobility. Otherwise may be consigned to Full Forward next year, forcing Kosi to CHF and Roo to a more roving role.
I wish him all the best as I was very happy we got him.

Not implying he will play seniors this year..but playing for Sandy this season means that he should be fully available by Round 1 2010...and that seemed to be Allen's focus when he spoke in the SC.saint66au wrote:Yep...for Sandyace wrote:Assuming that was the weekend of round 10 that means round 15-17saintsRrising wrote:Allen spoke in the SC and said then that he was hopeful of resuming playing in 6-8 weeks.
