Finally changing the trend

Saintsational 4.4 to Pies - 2.1

correspondant has been assured the halves are only 20 min- but feel like 45 with the heat- 10 min rests between.

having played down back without my glasses, I can report that:

- midfield dominance gave us a very relaxed time down back (well done to the hard workers upfield)
- everything was strangely blurry

Don't forget to leave some wooden spoons where the Pies supporters will find them.

Gees that was hot!!!!!

Well done to Jack our new recruit.

Zippy downback.

The Punter in his Saintsational debut was excellent all day.

Magnifisaint35 as always plenty of run, great finish by Scoonstar with a rampant last quarter.

St Luke was couragous all day crashing through, played an excellent two games.

Dooley in the ruck and forward,

Chunx and Daino as always.

Well done to Kipper on his return from injury snaring a couple of goals.

to Yipper for his coaching assistance and running water.

EB and Nattens holding up down back.

Anthony and Jarrod as well from Brett's clan were both excellent.

Overall very pleasing effort in extremely trying conditions.

Conceded the first 4 against the blues before fighting back well and then smashing the Pies on their own dunghill.

Well done all.

Apologies if Missed anyone....

Shades for his work in the ruck late, and his mate (who's name escapes me) who kicked a few very nice goals and Ben also for his run and carry through the middle....Think that's everyone (apart from my own average self).

hi all, johnson#26 from nicks, just want to thank all who were involved in the day, and particularly to those such as rollinson 65 and all those involved at the saints who helped get and then keep the show on the road. despite the results (as a magpie), it really was great fun and played in terrific spirit throughout. you guys definitely deserved your win over us, you've got plenty of talent there, and particularly liked the way you moved the ball out of half back, really left us high and dry once you got it out of our fifty. and to those who brought water/eskies/etc, terrific stuff, very much appreciated by all. these days are always great, hopefully there'll be another one not too far away. well done, and thanks again. j26.

was a good day.
very hot, but it always is when we play, just like whenever we play port its always pooring rain.
i think BOG was that guy up forward, never seen him before but far out...kicked about 6 goals for the day! well done
that winners GF was a very good game until the last 10 mins of the 2nd half, was the scores were always drawed or dees by a goal, but they ran away in the end and won by 4-5 goals.
the losers GF was good also seeing as we won, i dont think collingwood every really looked like winning, but wasnt a smashing and played in good spirit.

i much rather the games where we play 4 quarters against the 1 team, but was good for a bit of a change i guess.
also parko, a collingwood guy wanted to know after u left if we can have a rematch just us 2 early next year? i dont think they really want to play the dees, i dont think anyone does.

agree with dooley, would prefer to not play the dees again until we can get a bit more strength and skill in our side! haha. pies/saints always seem to be fairly even contests in general play.

Can I just add, I'd like to commend whoever organized the umpires ( and the umpires themselves) on coming out and making the day possible! Well done, bravo! ...... Even if that does sound a little Melbournish

Yeah absolutely. I enjoy playing the Pies, good bunch of blokes.

Dees far to good for most of us it must be said, but then again their preparation etc puts them in another league.
