Probably trying a bit too hard to hide his bias. Was a saints fan as a kid before going to Melbourne. Also has a family connection at the club. His dad was the manager of the social club/pokies venue for years !!

NEW scarf signature (hopefully with correct spelling) will be here as soon as it arrives !!

He has always been a Saints supporter. His jod is to make the game as exciting as possible for the viewing public. You don't have to believe all commentators are calling it as they really see it.

I noticed Jackovich was very kind to us.

Exactly. Grew up in the animal cage. He is just like us except he played for melb then Sydney and now commentates afl.

If you watch him enough I'll notice a well hidden soft spot for the saints!

I was told years ago by an apparent family freind of GH that he was a Carlton supporter...

If he has a soft spot for the Saints he hides it very very well.

Being a Bentleigh boy he followed the Saints as a kid. The only reason he played for Melbourne was that the other side of South Rd (200 metres from Moorabbin Oval) was in Melbourne's metro zone at the time.

yep back that in
and if you really follow his comments through and through you will find him very much prosainter
I put him up on the top of the list in terms of Radio/TV common-potatos as far as Saint-sympathy goes

And I think some of his family are Saints supporters to boot!

Gerard stated several times he was bought up as a Saints supporter.

Maybe we should give him credit because it isn't obvious now.

yes he was a St.Kilda supporter, grew up near Moorabbin.
He has actually been saying how impressive we have been in the last few weeks.
Mind you he does have a soft spot for the Dockers, probably feels sorry for them and hopes they find some success.
I wouldn't begrudge them some success, just not at our expense.

It probably has something to do with the AFL sending him to do a Freo game every two weeks. Because of the AFL fixture, he winds up calling Freo more than anyone else. He rarely calls us. I'm sure Healy's thrilled that he doesn't have to watch the garbage Freo served up for years anymore.

Healy soft spot for the Saints right will probably be more evident come finals time. He wants us to win a flag. I believe he's said that publicly. Right now Freo's resurgence (surgence?) is a better story. Particularly if you have to regularly call their games.

Yeah nah pleasing positive

I was told this around the time Diesel was playing for Carlton, maybe thats why he was thought to have been a Blues man at the time, being an ex-team mate...

Good to know he's a brother.

that's what i've heard also. he was trying hard to hide his bias for us.

coincidently, his criticisms of our game are the same as mine. we don't get the reward we deserve on the scoreboard for the effort we put in.

we dominated for much of the match, but the dockers were still in it on the scoreboard with five minutes to go.
