Kicking in from a behind

Post: # 1007256Post battye »

This wasn't unique to today it should be noted. Where did we go wrong trying to get the ball out of defence, notably kicking in from a behind? We just could not clear it :(

Plenty to improve on...getting out of defence, forward line structure, and clearances.

Pretty much our entire game can be improved.

Kosi and Roo shouldn't be within 30m of each other. One 15m out from goal, the other at 60m.

A ruckman who can tap to advantage AND keep his feet to tackle or get a kick.

When the pies kick in their first option is always to go quick out wide. Most of the time they go wide all the way to the forward line. Contrast to the cats who bring it back through the middle.

Our "frontal pressure" has almost been non existent this year. It was massive in our surge last year. The pies copied it brilliantly this year.
We couldn't even get it in to our forward line the last two weeks.

We need more players that actually want the ball when it is coming out of defence
Dawson, Baker, Jones, McQualter, Eddy, Ray, Peake - that's too many who would prefer not have the ball in their hand.
