How could I get the Saints to help me?

Post: # 1105827Post Calais »

Hey guys. Long time reader/lurker but don't post much on here. Wanted to ask your pinion on something as I'd love for the STKFC to get involved.

My name's Mahmoud, ( Feel free to call me Mo ) 18 years old , a student and at the moment am in training for a solo charity marathon from Melbourne to Sydney which will be in Memory of my father who passed away in late May after battling stomach cancer. I'm trying to raise 20k and am half way there.

I've emailed them for a small donation and was told they are low on funds so I guess that's fair enough. How could I get the Saint's involved as I'm a massive Sainters man, surely they could help with publicity? I've already got a few of the boys at the Pies who have donated and have been given a Signed Collingwood jumper to auction off.
Any ideas at all? Cheers guys. I'll post up some of my links.

My fundraising page - http://www.everydayhero.com.au/mahmoudChatila

Thanks again for reading , Calais.

Perhaps someone on here could alert the club. A number claim to have contacts, so now's the time to come good.

The Collingwood FC have supported your charity but the St Kilda FC did not? That makes me embarrassed to be a Saints man.

Yeh also got a few players to personally donate as well. I was told Daisy Thomas re tweeted something about me a few days ago but I don't really get how twitter works to be honest.

I should probably jump on board and make an account.

I'm no saying the saints shouldn't have donated but

the pies make a profit after change of 7 million +
we make a profit after memberships of less than 1 mill.

and yes only a jumper BUT it all adds up....

Good luck Calais.

It was a great article Calais - good luck to you.

Maybe forward a link to the article to Michael Nettlefold (his email is listed in the contact list on saints.com.au) with a request for some merchandise to auction off?

I would like the Saints to help "ME" the last GF loss has mentally destroyed me not to mention the Geelong and Crow ones that we should have won.
Maybe they could subsidize a shrink for me, the least they could do for a 30+ year member.

I can see the Saints name on your clothing in the HUN photo. Generally, the Saints admin have shown that they wouldn't know a promotion opportunity if it bit 'em on the bum. Hopefully, they'll come good this time.

Quick update -

I've been invited to train with the club as part of the ' Centerbet train like a Saint ' promotion.

I entered with a video and I along with 21 other people have been invited. I'm over the moon!

Youre not saying that the Saints shouldnt have got involved due to the cost of donating a jumper are you?

Hey guy's attended training today in Seaford as I was one of the winners of the ' train like a saint' promo so I thought I'd share some things with you guys.

They took us (about 40 of us, 20 winners with double passes) to the Basketball court where they fitted us and gave us brand new Saints Guernseys, members hat and a scarf. We then went for a tour around the facility and WOW  at just how good it is. Has to be up there with Lexus centre.. Well not really but it's very very good! We watched the boys train them some of the boys took us for training. All players and officials were happy to chat to us.

All in all a great day.

Just some things that caught my eye about today;

- Milney is the heart and soul of this club. No doubt about it.

- Raph is extremely popular and very well liked with all the boys.

- These modern players get everything handed to them. Not a sledge, more in terms of just how lucky they are but I do guess they do deserve it.

- Tommy is a huge unit! WOW! Very solid boy. Could do a lot of damage.

- Didnt see Roo or Lenny all day.

- Cant see Gardiner playing anytime soon. Only did tap work but didnt move around much.

-

Anything else guys just ask and I'll be happy to answer.
