the other Lloyd brother was on radio earlier and said new coach would make little differance to drafting etc as their recruiting policy has been in place for some years- hasn't spoken to new coach about plans.

Freo will enjoy his poor disposal, if true. Judging by the Ball trade fiasco in 2009, I expect Lyon to give us nothing for him.

But if they want him, and he wants to go, he's gotta be worth more than if we were simply trying to offload him.

CJ is a very good player with a couple of deficiencies stopping him from being elite. I will miss him if true, best stopper in the competition and he will embarrass us if we let him go cheap.

We should try and get John Griffin or a first rounder for him. Ross rates him which should push up his value (hopefully). Sad to see him go though - has become a good ball winner and tackling machine....

He has, but if we are to improve we need to replace him with a good ball winner and tackling machine who can kick - preferably with both feet.

If he wants to go then let him go and play a role for Lyon. But play it hard Saints.

On the back of Baker's "retirement" CJ would be a bit of a loss...our go to taggers/stoppers would be gone. Not the end of the world if he goes but would leave us with a deficiency of sorts.

Another trade rumour is Matthew Bate from the Demons wants out. Would we look at him? Extremely good mark for his size and may fill the medium tall possie that we need. I've always like him and thought he hasn't been given enough opportunity at Melb.

Mathew Bate would be worth a good look at. We need a robust mid-size forward. He has played close to 100 AFL games and would slot in where Gamble was supposed to.
