Possible changes for Sydney
A few names but likely to be
OUT - Stanley - Injury
Cripps - Injury
IN - Fisher
Gwilt/Raph
Yes Wilkes had a bad game down back but we need him forward with Stanley going down. Allows us to keep structure.
Unless Schneider had a great game Saad stays in for mine. The second half he showed that he was more dangerous when he had space.

Re: Possible changes for Sydney
Agree re Wilkes. Need him forward, especially in the absense of Stanley now. But let us never speak of him in backline again.

Re: Possible changes for Sydney
I dont care if we need Wilkes for structure. He isnt good enough so must be dropped. Our coach has to work out another structure.
Re: Possible changes for Sydney
Ok time for shoe on the other foot Plugs.
Instead of saying he isn't good enough, who do you propose we bring in?

Fisher, Gwilt and Schneider.
Agree with P66, quality over position, then sort it out later.

Yep fair enough. Fisher and Jimmy come in. We play Siposs as the third tall plus our 3 smalls with Rooy and Kosi. Blake rucks with back up from Kosi occasionly. Blake will have to go forward when resting which isnt ideal but not much choice. gilbert can move further up the ground so there is space for Jimmy and Chips.

Sippos has to come in - its future we are really after and to be fair, Wilkes aint future.
Siposs HAS to demand the ball and get in the game to hold that spot but should be given some games in a row to do so.
Love to squeeze Leger in for midfield leg speed and mongrel....at the expense of Armo?

+1 though.
As ex-president Peter Summers said:

St Kilda - At least we have a Crest!

Fair call. Not sold on Siposs at the moment though - hasn't shown much the last 2 games for us.
Did he play today for the Zebs?

Re: Possible changes for Sydney
Structure is always important. And that showed when Stanley went down. It threw everything out due to Blake having to ruck more than was needed.SainterK wrote:Fisher, Gwilt and Schneider.

Hard to impress how vital Stanley has become to the team in terms of ruck and forward structure.
If he was in W.A would that mean that he would go back to the 2's next week due to not having any type of game time this week?

Old Mate who would be your choice for rookie upgrade?

Re: Possible changes for Sydney
Siposs isn't strong enough to play as a key forward and not fit enough to be a midfielder. It's half forward or nothing IMO. So Wilkes keeps his spot purely as a forward to hold up structures with Blake becoming the number one ruck. Kosi would make a better ruckman but only Riewoldt and Wilkes up forward isn't enough - I think Watters would rather leave the defence without Blake than the forward line without Kosi.
Gilbert is very lucky we don't have any defenders taller than him as he was absolutely terrible with the footy.
OUT: Stanley, Cripps
IN: Fisher, Gwilt
B: Gwilt, Simpkin, Dempster
HB: Fisher, Gilbert, Geary
C: Gram, Hayes, Montagna
HF: Milera, Riewoldt, Goddard
F: Milne, Koschitzke, Wilkes
Foll: Blake, Dal Santo, Steven
Int: Armitage, Ray, Jones, Saad (sub)
Emg: Ledger, Clarke, Siposs

"The inches we need are everywhere around us. They're in every break in the game. Every minute, every second. On this team we fight for that inch. On this team we tear ourselves and everyone around us to pieces for that inch. We claw with our fingernails for that inch. Because we know when we add up all those inches that's gonna make the f***in' difference between winning and losing! Between living and dying!'
Re: Possible changes for Sydney
Outs: Stanley, Wilkes
Ins: Fisher, Clarke (deserves a call up)
Personally I'd also swap Gwilt for Geary but I don't think it will happen.

I've never seen a bad St.Kilda player - that's just how they are.
Re: Possible changes for Sydney
Although Cripps came back on, I don't think he will be 100% for next week.

Agree. Having done an ACL myself, he showed all of the trade mark symptoms. The immediate excrutiating pain, then nothing much, you feel a bit tender but nothing more.Buckets wrote:Although Cripps came back on, I don't think he will be 100% for next week.
When he came back on, there didnt seem to be any times when it was really tested out, unlike Luke Ball when he did his.

Re: Possible changes for Sydney
From what I saw at Sandy today Jimmy, Raph and Ledger are ready to come in this week. Schneider needs another week or so in the twos.
Old enough to repaint, but young enough to sell
