I thought we were going to play 2 games for points next season and the season after.

Has NZ gone lukewarm on the Saints as we are now a crap side?

We need way more than 1 game a season to make this venture worthwhile.

May as well look at Alice Springs or another new market if this is the case.

Cairns FTW. Two games against low-drawing sides like GC, PA or GWS up there would be great for our financial state - probably net us a couple of million more.

I heard that too and I also heard that there is a reason for that and that it might have something to do with the club trying to sign another deal for a a few games in another destination that is equally lucrative.

Was Sydney chosen as opponents because it is a recognisable city or because we thought we would be good this season. Hopefully next season we can match up against Melbourne or even GC.

Won't be Sydney next year. Wellington council get a say on our opponents and they want a fresh lots of tourists very year. Fair enough too. Also don't want them flogging us every year during our rebuilding phase

Club would have weighed up crowd seeing us lose vs players travelling vs less value for members .

Yep, understand that, as much as it was written tongue in cheek, I kind of like the idea of our opponent travelling further. Guess these are the parameters when we sell up.
