Well done Sainter K - I think this is a FANTASTIC initiative.
So often in the past champions have simply slipped away without any formal send off.
One of my all time favourites was Joffa Cunningham.
He quietly retired over one summer break.
No farewell match.
No lap of honour next season.
No tributes.
Just slipped away.
It's a bit like someone not having a funeral.
Players today get treated much better.
And this tribute is another lasting momento for them to look back on and realise how much they meant to people.

The rest of Australia can wander mask-free, socialise, eat out, no curfews, no zoning, no police rings of steel, no illogical inconsistent rules.

Is this a general tribute to cover those that will get delisted but we don't know who they are yet? I'll see what I can do....
I'm getting a bit teary writing thatIf I was to say "A player who played at the level he was capable of playing for the club" well there is no need to even mention his name is there. What can we say about him? A player who in the position he played did the things that you would expect of a player in that position. His team mates often remarked that he considered him a real team mate. When he came to the club at the age he did no one thought he would play the number of games that he ended up playing. In the pantheon of great players of this club he will take his place in the appropriate position. He will be remembered fondly for things he did - and didn't do. The anecdotes from his time at the club are definitely very descriptive of him. Every time he pulled on the red white and black stripes you knew he was playing for St Kilda. His coach said about him "he was a listed player that's for sure". There were fans who critical of him and fans who weren't. But that's football. Those people who know him intimately say he's the the kind of guy that you don't really know him until you get to know him. In conclusion I wish him all the best with his future endeavours and say with heart felt feeling "He was a St Kilda player. And now he isn't it".
