Positives

Post: # 1471313Post cannavaro17 »

Ross- thought his clearance work was good. 28 touches...wasnt everyone saying he was done 4 weeks ago like lee this week?
Longer-thought he attacked the ball well and took some good marks around the ground...hes a fighter.
Murdoch- solid for game number 10 or so
Armitage- showed why we need him...attacks the ball like a warrior. We cant trade him as we are thin on midfielders like him

Longer: 3 disposal, 2 marks. Not nearly enough for mine.
From what I saw at sandy yesterday I would bring both pierce and Stanley in for Lee and longer

I thought Ross didn't look like an AFL player who ran up and down on the spot and was one paced.

Happy to see him prove me wrong.

Really hope he continues on his path.

I also hope Lee proves me wrong as well. Have no problems with a Saint player whom I though was not going to make it, do so.

All the other teams who play us each week have the bye.

Hi Joffa

Positives
Ross
Weller
Armitage cracked in hard, ok for his first game back in 7 weeks

Shenton and Bruce both show something

That's about it?

Negatives
I thought our older players looked like old players, led poorly and had defeatist look (well perhaps not Len, but he looked tired)
Coaching .... Team structure, was horrible... No system.
We were beaten by talent and tactics

Coach has a minimum of two years... Like SW

Pelican. Piss him off... Love to know what positive influence he's been since he arrived in 2011?

Unless his legacy will be like Watson... Making us that bad, that we benefit from being terrible.
Problem is, right know is not the time in history to bottom out!

I disagree that this is a bad time to bottom out.

Uncompromised draft from here on in.

Free agency available as a tool when suited.

Can leverage bottom position to shake free a few disatisfied Suns and Giants not getting game time.

I acknowledge that the Suns and GWS will have super lists until the 20s ... but the list we build now will peak after their peak and we will get out chance.

AwayInUSA no longer ... have based myself back in Melbourne for a decade of Saintsational Success (with regular trips back to the USA)

How can you say that when there are still extra picks from previous years? ie Suns get a an extra pick this year based on where the Cats finish, as they get the first pick after them, and so hence an extra pick before our second pick.

What BFUSA?

Are we talking 7+ years?

That is an eon in AFL terms.... 97-2004... We were Runners up, last, second last, third... Over such a period.

I think any view longer than 4 years from being competitive is a concern

Long term views should always be considered

It doesn't get any harder than Geelong at Geelong - weird shaped long ground with weird pockets and hard to judge the wind for visitors, crowd influencing the umpires, a team determined to boost its percentage and beat up on an arch enemy. Again we play two shocking quarters then cracked in a bit harder in the third. Part of our growth is learning to how turn that momentum when its against us. Today was yet another harsh lesson. There will be more. But every time our hopelessly undermanned team learn just a little bit more.
