Why? 7 disposals and 1 clearance in 3 quarters playing predominately in the midfield

Because he was slaughtered last week and deserved to be dropped.

Good to see Eli get a chance and Hugh Goddard.

All going according to plan.

I think it's safe to assume that there will be only the one change
Goddard for Ross

Hickey only plays if Longer doesn't.
Paddy plays if Riewoldt doesn't.
Eli plays only if Gilbo/or another defender and Ross get dropped

He doesn't coach us any more. Should be "Why Richo?"

Any chance we'll drop Membrey and go with Paddy as the third tall even if Roo does play.

Noticed that Membrey was also named on the extended bench - not that it means much.

No chance i reckon Membrey had an off day like many others, he is just starting to play his position well.
He works hard and leads up to the wing if required. The perfect position for him.
Just has to straighten his goal kicking.

Paddy could play that position, but keep Membrey there atm.

Would be a mistake to drop Membrey. Young players need to know they can hold their spot for a game at least, if they are a bit off for a week. He has had a couple of really good performances before that, lets see how he responds to a bad one.

Great selection changes Saints. Great to see McCartin and Templeton come into the side with Hugh. Exciting times Saints!

Very happy with more kids being given game time. Must say Ray is very very lucky to keep his spot this week.

I must admit i was one of the Schneids bashers at the start of the season, but would have preferred him to be in the side over ray.

Exciting game with a couple of our future stars playing.

This place will go into meltdown with negetive nellys if Mccartin struggles and Goddard gets a bag kicked on him.

I'll be ecstatic if McCartin kicks a couple. If Hughey plays on Riewoldt then conceding 4 would be about par.

I have no problems with the younger players getting beaten by their opponents every now and again. What frustrates must people i think is losing by 30+ with players that will not be at the club in 2 years time while the kids show reasonable form in the ressies.

Glad Schneids has finally gotten the chop - his skills and decision making are gone and that was what made him a good player. I'm not at all confident that Roo will play since we seem incredibly tall with Riewoldt, Bruce, McCartin, Goddard, Fisher, Gilbert and Dempster all in the side. I'm slightly concerned about keeping the pressure on in our forward line without Membrey in the side, but I'm sure the game will be a great learning experience for our kids.

Won't get it two weeks in a row. It's between Eli and Sinclair, unless Schneider is a late inclusion for Roo.

I completely agree.
You just see a lot of posts here along the lines of "we should have taken 'player x' in the draft" based on a handful of performances. Even if we are playing a team that sits 1 game out of a top 4 position.

Doubt Roo will play and Sneider will come back in.
