Two Saints - Newnes and Longer

Timing/injury counted against Billings who is pretty clearly in that fwd group.

3/22 is pretty good.

The final 22 has not been chosen yet?

That means it's only 2/47, unless you assumed those two are in the top 22.

22 possessions a game and many tackles and plays on the best mid. Cant see a problem with him being in it.

It is very difficult to argue against anyone in that side to be fair. It is a very good side. A brilliant side.

Jake Lever and Tom Langdon are dubious and Longer had a right to be there over Grundy.

Billings would've been in there if he'd played a full year.

No he didn't he was on the borderline for a while of getting dropped. I'm not sure he didn't this year actually.

All three had solid years

http://www.aflplayerratings.com.au/Rati ... die-GRUNDY
http://www.aflplayerratings.com.au/Rati ... Ed-LANGDON
http://www.aflplayerratings.com.au/Rati ... Jake-LEVER

But what I would argue though, is that you have the best shot at making this team if you are in a mid-tiered team. Why?

If you are in a top 6 side - it is much harder to get a game.
If you are in a bottom 6 side - it is much harder to get the ball.

If you take then into account - then it is not surprising most of the guys in this team are from mid-tiered teams.

The stand-outs/outliers

Top Teams - Yeo, Neale, Parker
Bottom Teams - Saad, KK, Cripps, Lynch, Hogan

The majority (14) are from mid-tiered sides.

plus our most likely guys to be up there (i.e. our recent 1st/2nd round picks) are only 19/20 years old, i'm talking billings, dunstan, acres, mccartin, goddard, mckenzie. expect that 2 or 3 of those will make the 22u22 in the next 2 years. that's ignoring sinclair & lonie.

Jake lever is a very very good player at this very early start to his career. I would love him in our defence .

Has he done anything more then Hugh Goddard at this stage? Getting overrated IMO.

Pretty similar, you are right.
Jake is a nose in front but is 6 months older and plays in a better side. But I don't see that as Lever being over-rated. I see it as HG being a gun. I think they are both stand-outs. So id take nothing away from either of them.

Don't care if he was dropped or not. Is a better all round player than Longer and was better this year. I still rate Hickey as a much better ruckman than Longer. I hope if we trade one it is Longer. Tap work doesn't do it for me unless you are a Sandilands.

It is hard to see who even Billings would replace in that forward line.

I would rate Billings better then Langdon on the bench.
