Hr's still dodgy though, even sober. His company asked me to invest more money with them a couple of years ago, then changed their minds and didn'y go ahead with the float. They sent me a refund cheque. It bounced.

Calls to the company were never answered, nor was my letter.

Crook.

Thanks Bratty.
Interesting interview.
But doesn't explain everything.

At his best a brilliant mind & he nearly pulled it off but unfortunately the Butters & Thomas union was extremely flawed & the club paid for their failings & decisions made with a lack of integrity.
When you hold a role of responsibility at a members based club you cannot allow your private business matters & personal dealings to compromise the club.

Its a fact Thomas was paid double the market rate as the coach of St kilda supported by Butters so he could pay back his personal debt to Butters.

Thomas was a first time AFL coach, the process to hire him as coach was a farcical inside tampered job, and the club was compromised.

Thomas is a disgrace, if I hear him say he is Saints man one more time I will become ill.

His cheap pot shots at the club on Footy Classifieds showed his nature as a 'hater' when things didnt go his way.

Again another era that we should have banked a couple of Premierships ruined by poor administration.

The Catch22 is though is that without them and others like Kellet, Ryan and Waldron that there would have been no successful era at all then.

We were dead when they got involved...and without them the corpse would not have been given new life.

Once Butterss and Thomas started pulling in opposite directions and Waldron chasing skirt it ruined what had been a truly amazing resurrection.

Our rebuild rivalled what North did with the ten year rule.

Does cocaine in front of sponsors at a St Kikda function and wondered and bitched about why he was shunned from the club.

I hope he turns his life around, he has hurt a lot of people and needs to put something back.

OK, did cocaine in front of sponsors and bitched and moaned for two years to people associated with the club about being kicked out and how harshly he was treated.

I hope he turns his life around.

Sounds far fetched but that only comes from GT who in the end couldn't stand him.

True.

Thommo reckoned that Butters had the morals of an alley cat

Wasn't that where the fallout began?.

Butterss' off-field antics and his resultant marriage issues, divided GT and him due to the relationship GT and his missus had with Butterss' wife?

There were also concerns expressed in relation to that type of lifestyle going on the presence of impressionable young men.

That's what I was told at the time.

Where did I write it comes from GT riptug66?

I think it is pretty generally known that Butters completely went off the rails at one point. So I don't doubt the cocaine/sponsor story. It isn't all that hard to believe. Especially back then when cocaine was supposedly 'cool' with the corporate cats.

I'm doubting it no matter how off the rails he was.

Gotta keep these old Saints away from the club. Most are tapped.

I guess a few Sainters didn't enjoy the great football the club played back when Butters and GT got it happening for a while, anyway that was then and this is now.

I disagree.

It is but one measure, though admittedly a very important one.

The EFC were on their way to a premiership via drgs. Would that have made them a success?
