We actually gave up two first rounders and got nothing in return.

Don't worry we are not the only club to suffer - Melbourne, Port and Bulldogs too. This year will fly and Carlisle will be playing again very soon!

Supposed master mind traders and negotiators. Couldn't have fluffed the 2015 trades anymore. Should have always played hardball with the bombers
Out of contract
Nominated the saints
WADA hanging over his head

Can't blame them for the off field indescretion although arguably some did say he didn't pass the d**khead test but purely based on the above we got righ royally shafted on the Carlisle trade and now we are paying the price in full

Said it before and will say it again - giving up what we did to Essendon for Carlisle when he had a ban hanging over his head with all his baggage was friggin nuts - we should have stood our ground and taken him to the PSD or only offered a 2nd rounder if anything at all - now we are looking like complete muppets

If the 12 month ban reports are true then he will be 26.5 before he even pulls on a St Kilda in anger with a year and a half out of footy ........ nought more needs to be said

This decision will effectively add one year to our rebuild. However, on the plus side, Carlisle will be back in 2017, and rip-roaring to go. I have heard that players who have missed seasons due to injuries often feel that the seasons get added on at the end of their careers. Just trying to see the lighter side.
Essendon supporters on BigFooty gloating that at least they smashed the St Kilda and Port trades...

Huge loss to our structure. Fish was looking forward to not playing On the gorillas. The only positive is it fast tracks Goddard
Spewing. Will we have to pay him? Would that money be insured?

That's 16 on the list and all the media are saying there are only 12 still at Essendon

Not allowed to pay him.

He can sue Essendon for the loss of income.

I believe his contract was front loaded ;-)

So more than $700k

Least he only gets 20 weeks
Already doing 2 for doing cocaine and putting it on social media
Great stuff

It is clear we payed overs for him... Something we didn't need to do.

2nd round or pre season draft
Should have Ben them over a barrel and only paid unders knowing what was coming

I said it at the time that it was way too risky recruiting an Essendon player.

But then we were stupid enough to not just do it, but to pay OVERS!

One of the worst recruiting decisions in our history.

But he can't train with us either. That means he has to self manage his training and fitness...I suppose he could try to sue Essendon to pay for his personal trainer though.

I wonder how many of those 12 players will ever pull on an Essendon jumper again? Be pretty hard for them to trust that club again. I imagine some will retire and others will walk to the club of their choice at the conclusion of their bans, using possible legal action as leverage if the club tries to stop them.

How's that movie looking BJ?

No

Andrew Lovett was the worst recruiting decision in history.

1 Million over 3 years, money tied up in the SC and he was detested.

Carlisle is only a loss of 650k for the one season

But really that means for 2017/18 contract he will be on around 1 million per season. Slightly overpaid for a guy who's only finished top ten in a b&f once in 6 seasons

A mistype on my behalf - still my argument that we gave up too much at the trade table stands

I would also think that a year and a half out of footy for an inconsistent player might only exacerbate his already suspect dedication and mental application
