Training Monday 16th

Post: # 1649237Post yipper »

It looks like all bar 3 players were on the track today. With jack Lonie running laps. Hugh Goddard running laps and one of the NZ guys I think was on light duties.

observations:
Paddy looks bigger - big, big young man. Still growing?? great hands this fellow has.
Jack stevens sporting a beard.
Roo was training the house down as he always has done.
all our recruits were out there I believe - Carlisle, Brown very prominent.
They were working on set plays - particularly moving the ball from kick in from a behind out into play and moving it quickly. they were setting up with their own fierce defensive pressure and trying to work through it.
Was interesting to watch.
unfortunately I needed to get back to work and was only able to watch briefly - so unable to provide a full report today. Perhaps tony or Jaxons can provide a bit more??

I want to stand for something. I'm a loyal person and I think at the end of my career it will be great to look back and know that I'm a St Kilda person for life.

I had a bit of a look today, although only for about an hour

not a lot to report from the bits I watched closely, many players on the far side of the ground and was with my young daughter

Freeman running laps, and a longer run on the park track. Seemed to be running fine, bandage on one calf.

As Yipper noted, Paddy looks leaner, fit and sharp
Ditto Billings, just motoring around hitting good targets. Looks primed to step up this year
Lewis Pierce has more agility than I thought, pretty light on his feet for a big bloke.
All the usual suspects training hard (Roo, Jack S, Mav etc)
The Gresh was looking lively and smart, dancing feet
Rowan Marshall was doing well, according to some of the other punters there

Had a chat with a couple of blokes there, one of which was Josh Battle's dad.
Said Josh was really happy at the Saints and fitting in well. Was apparently coached by buckets as well as Lloyd - not a bad combo!

It was a really hard session. It was hot out there. Boxing tomorrow, out on the track again Wednesday.

it was far more pleasant standing under those little gum trees Tony (apart from a million mozzies!) :)

Yep, no worries. Just part of his longer plan to not have any setbacks. Fingers and everything else crossed!! Jake pulled up absolutely knackered! That was his first no holes barred session!

Ouch  I think you mean no "holds" barred. No "holes" barred is a special adult game that we probably should talk about on the Animal Enclosure forum.

Yeah seriously thanks to all three.

I could never get there even if I initiated a no holes barred session.

And I have always lived by a holes barred policy.

Only three missing today. Many trained indoors-all to plan.
