Alir Alir
Should we chase AlirAlir from Sydney come end of year?
Has not played seniors for some time, I think he's got a big future and could potentially
provide great flexability. What would he cost? Thoughts

Re: Alir Alir
Might have issues off-field and he is contracted until end of 2018.

But shoring up our defensive line could be good.

So if we bring in Alir Alir - who do you want to drop/trade out?
Carlisle?
Brown?
Goddard?
Captain Jarryn?
Montagna?
Roberton?
Webster?
Rice?
White?

Re: Alir Alir
Brown wont be around for ever and the jury's still out on Goodard ( he could end up forward if he recovers from injury )
montagna will retire next year and rice and white still need to make it.

You dont trade on a direct in and out basis on position.
Pointless point.
And yes Montagna will be gone.
Goddard is not even an established player.
Brown is no spring chicken.
So position is relevant.

Ok.
I guess you are also not interested in:
Steve Johnson
Lachie Whitfield
Michael Walters
Toby Greene
Dustin Martin
Trust me I can name many many more.
Ridiculous post. He just missed one training session. Ill bet many of our players have missed the odd session in the last few years.

Re: Alir Alir
Montagna will be given a quiet little shove at the end of the year, Goddard's body is struggling with the pressures of AFL and if we get 2yrs out of Brown we'll be lucky.Con Gorozidis wrote:?Sainter_Dad wrote:So if we bring in Alir Alir - who do you want to drop/trade out?

So if not Alir Alir, then we really should be looking closely at another key back.

Re: Alir Alir
I am not saying yes or no.
I am just saying he should be looked at like everyone else and then it should depend on the deal.
People writing him off because he missed one single training session out of hundreds or a thousand are just being ridiculous.
he is a good player.

Re: Alir Alir
Why? Hes been injured. Lol the kid will be fine. Was touted as number 1 pick at 16yo. I think youll be surprised. Hes had achillies. Cant do cardio. Massive setback. Club should extend 2 years on small pay (still good in real world) after a pre season of running he'll be a star. 196cm leader good hands nice left footstonecold wrote:We do need another key back, cause personally as I've stated before, Goddard is not going to make it!!!!!!

Too slow, always has been, people happy to Whack Paddy, but Goddard seems to escape the heat, he hasn't even achieved half what Paddy has!!!!!
There's usually a reason players skip from being flagged as a number one pick as a 16yr old, it's peaking early, and this is Hughies issue!!!!!
Watched him player for many years now and he just hasn't progressed at all, as I've stated before, carnt seem him making it, especially now he's body is now letting him down, time after time!!!!#
I hope he proves me wrong though!!!!!

Re: Alir Alir
I would definitely go after him if we are any sort to of chance. There was a game when we played Sydney recently. I can't remember which forward Aliir played on but our forwards were absolutely hopeless trying to mark against him. Still only 22 years old!saynta wrote:Con Gorozidis wrote:I am not saying yes or no.

Really attacking style of play, and a freak of an athlete. His attitude shouldn't really be a problem seeing as he is a representative for immigrants and has spoken at the UN before. A yes from me
