Weak selection policy AGAIN!

Post: # 1726314Post older saint »

Great to see Phillips get a game a guy who's form at the level he played was good enough and consistent enough to earn promotion.

Once again though the selectors/coaching staff/ leaders lack the courage to make the tough calls.

Billings is terribly out of form and down on confidence yet continues to get a game. Him pulling out of the contest going back last week is a prime example of no confidence. Let him go back play in the middle, get 40 touches and kick a couple goals and feel good about himself.

Newness - seriously one thing to find the ball but unless he uses it like Darren Jarman ( which he doesn't) then 4 tackles in 7 games shows a lack of defensive effort ,hardness and want . Sorry cannot be acceptable on any level.

Perhaps Gresham saved himself kicking 1.4 and they think the turnaround is just around the corner. perhaps??
Weller must be very lucky and Battle unlucky.

Definition of insanity is doing the same thing the same way and expecting a different result or alternatively being a StKilda supporter and hoping for a shake up!

Soo disappointed

OK this is just turning into blind faith.

Waiting for the worm to turn.

Fkn 4 tackles gets another run.
No Battle? I mean come on.
How is Billings playing at AFL standard?

Win or lose... We are just gifting games on the back of garbage performances.

Either Richardson is some genius that no one else can read or he is just out of clues.

This website should and has every right to combust and go into total meltdown with the selection of this weeks team....

1-1-5 , lowest scoring team in the competition.
Forget reputations, draft positions, age ( within reason) and honestly ask the question - does the players performance over the last 3 weeks deserve them a spot in the 22.

its not that hard

I dont think we should call Billings a leader.

Or 4 tackles.

This selection just exemplifies why we are doing so poorly as a team. No accountability.
It really is insanity. Would it have hurt to be bold, drop a couple and make a statement? Looks like we are happy with our onfield performance. If not its a bizarre way of showing it.
I at least hope we swap a few magnets like i suggested in a different thread.
Anyway, good luck to Ed, at least him coming in is a positive.

Good to see that Newnes has been rewarded for his ONE tackle last week.

We lost two forwards and have brought in two midfielders. I feel a 10 goal thumping coming our way, but one thing’s for sure, come Monday, Richo will find lots of positives and will be pleased with the effort.

The positive thing is Richo keeps digging his hole deeper by the week, makes it easier to make the move.

Feel like I should bet $10,000 on freo because they are absolutely guaranteed to win.

Why is this that this club hates its loyal supporters?

Have watched Sandringham a few times this year and I have to say that there no one is exactly demanding selection in the ones.

Agree. The only one demanding selection in the ones was Phillips, and he is in. Battle certainly hasn't, not ready yet. Sinclair unlucky.

Acres had to come in. Don't see any problems. Bringing players in who have not really earnt it just for the sake of change will not achieve anything.

Freo have two players - Fyfe & Neale - the rest are average or young

We are a chance more so than previous weeks and we play ok in WA - no Walters as well who has cut us up in the past

and with the imminent sacking of Ro$$ ........................

Surely some sort of line in the sand has been drawn for this game. Hopefully the riot act has been read to a few

Last chance stuff

Zero unforced changes in a team that rolled over and got spanked by another ordinary side is quite pathetic. I'm guessing our tall forwards will be Membrey and Acres when Marshall goes into the ruck...
