Post: # 1729701Post noddy04 »

LOCK IT IN: Port Adelaide will play St Kilda in Shanghai next season after a strong financial push from the Victorian Government. However, Port Adelaide want to play a second away game in Shanghai in the same week with Greater Western Sydney the most likely other opponent. OOPS sorry I didnt know there was a thread on this....Mods please delete if you want

Saints have NOT been asked-- it's the SA media jumping on the ' suggestion' from media over here.

Caro's been saying this for a little while now, she usually has good mail.

TBH we need the money and I'd rather see us playing the smears in China than at Adelaide where we always get creamed...

Saints have stated that no one has approached them and therefore the Board has not discussed it.

Seems reasonable to me.

Just Caro talking out of the wrong orifice again.

"“You think about things because there’s a conversation going on about them, but we haven’t been approached by the AFL or the State Government,” Finnis said.

“I think it becomes like any new idea or opportunity, you sit down and you kind of look at what are the pros, what are the cons and go through a robust process of looking at it, but what I can say is we haven’t been doing that yet.

“ … It’s too early for us to be able to say whether we’d be in agreement or not (to play in China) because it’s not something we’ve considered.”

The Saints have been keen to expand on the three games they have played in Wellington, New Zealand from 2013 to 2015 but are awaiting the development of a suitable ground in Auckland.

Finnis conceded without a stadium in Auckland, playing in New Zealand wasn’t an option in the short term.

He said the club’s much improved stadium deal with Etihad Stadium allowed the club to be more considered with its approach to selling home games.

“Clearly as we have an improved Etihad Stadium deal, then the opportunity-cost becomes different to what it used to be,” Finnis said"

Given the board took all day last week to groupthink themselves into continuing with the 5 year Alan Richardson experiment ... I don't think it'll matter that the board doesn't know about it.

We are prepared to lose to anyone, anywhere!

If there's money in it, even better.

I think the president and board are still expecting us to make the finals, so that's probably the main objective at the moment

I hope there aren't any pictures of that orifice, one would never recover from a sight like that...

Will the Saints ever be classed as a good club ?
