Lethers cleaning house

I didn't really like the apointment of Lethers earlier in the year due to his infidelity issues, but I was prepared to give him a chance.

After this somewhat disaster of a season, I definately think he is exactly what we need. A ruthless hard arse that is willing to make Moorabbin great again. He actually does have a very good footy background and is not some bloke in a suit from the AFL so to speak.

I'm hoping Lethers sweeps a big broom through parts of RSEA Park. He seems like the man to do it. He is also going hard in trying to bring in new players to the club from what I have been told. I like his intent and he's becoming more vocal which is good to see.

Got no idea what he's like or what his talents are but if he improves things then we should be
eternally grateful to him. If the club is to attach some free agents there has to be a palpable
feeling that things are getting better and no mediocrity will be tolerated.

I say let Lethlean buy the biggest bloody broom he can find at Moorabbin Bunnings. Let him sweep out all the crap. Hopefully he doesn't sweep out any of the good people though along the way.

The application for the Melbourne CEO job doesn't bode well for his level of long term commitment to the club
I can't help wondering if he is marking time on a couple of hundred grand a year until something better comes along.

it would have been a higher level job I understand, and no one knew Pert would snatch it. Can't criticise the ambition unless he was on a promise that our CEO job would be his in a couple of years. Also he now has a reason to prove Melbourne wrong and come to terms with where he currently sits in the industry pecking order. Only a real fool would not put everything into improving the Saints aspiration (not a KPI) of winning more games than losing. He might even make it a KPI for the coach at the next performance review session, weighted above the quality of the on field interviews. He brings a substantial amount of AFL HQ intellectual property and doesn't have the baggage of the 2 year extension decision to rationalise. I suspect it will be a surgical reordering of responsibilities rather than a shock and awe blitz ( apologies to Make America Great posters), but the house will sure be cleaner.

Yep fire all the assistants because they control the team. But Richo? He's the worlds greatest coach just needs a team full of A grades and legendary assistants and he will win 6 games....like he did when he had lots of A grades in 2014....blamed the sh!te season on lack of secondary players. Every year someone is at fault but not him.

This year it's the old Richmond analogy....which is horse sh!t. Richmond had possibly the best development coach ever and went to finals 3 out of 4 years only missing because of insane injury- the head coach blames the assistants then rides the hard work of the assistants hes gotten fired to a granny the next year.

We arent Richmond or pies or whoever. We have a piss poor coach with a shocking game plan. FACT.

Totally agree David.

Richardson is an absolute dud and an embarassment to the club. Replacing the assistants is like 'the tail wagging the dog'. The simple answer is the club cant afford to sack Richo financially and because they wont attract anyone else worth having - so we are stuck with the d*ck head.

The other negative to Richardson remaining is the entire industry know he is out of his depth, so we have no hope of attracting a free agent.

What a basket case of a club we support!
