ANALYSIS: Star Giant set for Tribunal date - http://m.afl.com.au/news/2018-06-23/ana ... urweek-ban

Plugger would have got 10 for this. Still remember when he cleaned up Caven. That was a scary hit back in the day.

Yep
But what bullshite rules will the AFL use .
I think in a small way they are to blame .
Buddy elbowed someone , no penalty
Then even worse
Fyfe elbows yeo , gets a fine
Should have got at least 2 weeks
Now this
Should get 6 weeks minimum
But its one of the best giants so who knows.
Can't help but think that if they had penalised buddy heavily it may have sent the message to players to keep the arms down
But we all know they have two sets of rules , one for their favorites and one for the rest.

Need a yellow card system. Cameron played on and kicked goals, no justice for Brissy.

Brisbane one man down and Cameron plays out the game. Maybe they need an instant MRP type set up for the big hits like this. Tick the relevant boxes and if the offender gets weeks for the indiscretion then it starts straight away and the player has to go off (evening the players available on the day).

If the downed player is able to return then the offender can return for that match only.

Might get 6 weeks for that one. Probably depends on the injury report.

It's interesting isn't it...

I know at a lot of local levels they have the send off rule for a quarter or a match depending on the severity

This would have been the exact type of scenario where the player could get sent off for the match and his team play a man down too (pbly allow someone to swap on as otherwise it would be too severe a penalty)

J. Cameron - 4 weeks - lock it in!

Bit of a beat up IMO… another one of those incidents where the player leaves the ground before the ball arrives to make a realistic contest, but has no opportunity to pull out.

Andrews was brave but put himself in a pretty dangerous position. I have no doubt Cameron was genuinely trying to compete rather than inflict injury, maybe poor judgement to compete in hindsight. He actually looks like he tries to not collect the head to me.

I can see footy will become essentially non contact down the track, as collision will always cause head injuries at this pace.

By softening the blow with his elbow? He ironed out a Brissy player in the pre-season too, obviously doesn't like being challenged much.

Mitigating factors - AFL need GWS to play finals; Cameron is the team's best forward. There will have to be a strong penalty but I would be surprised if t is not watered down. Watching the nudge nudge on the footy shows it is easy to get the impression that incidents are not judged on their merits, expediency is heavily weighted. Remember Matty McGuire's solar plexus punch. I found the "fight night' promotion of Barry Hall such poor taste. Quite a few of the storied football mothers will have crossed AFL off the sports to play list for their kids. Oh, and Cameron apologised after the game.

Bleed on/in the brain...he will be out for a lot longer than 2 weeks.

Cameron should be stood out for the season.

It was a king-hit.

Priors ++

Animal act!

Needs a real lesson.

AFL cannot minimise this and simultaneously retain any shred of credibility.
