He doesn't need colossal guns, he needs a colossal lift in his work rate this season.

Billy Slater. What a champ.

Posters that have admitted they were wrong about Hanna's gastro and the club didn't create a cover story.

Reckon Billy Slater would be handy in our midfield.

I don't see it at all Scollop.

He does not look ripped or cut or of lean body fat and lean muscle mass to me at all.

Looks average physically for an elite athlete to me.

He needs to improve his endurance and maintain his explosiveness and power.

The critical parts aren't the guns, they are for show.
Its all about the core and power which isn't on show.

From a lean muscle mass point of view Dunstan is probably best equipped physically, but obviously falls down a bit in the running capacity.

Gary Ayres had the nickname "Conan" during his playing days, because he actually looked like the fictional character. Don't see any resemblance with Acres, though.

That's alright stoney, I'm sure you can be educated.

I'm not involved with football but have a reasonable understanding of what it takes to be an elite athlete as
I have a son at the AIS and have watched him train and prepare for international competition & undertake elite testing.

Ha yeah alright :?

How you can say he looks average physically for an elite athlete is laughable given there are plenty of elite athletes who come in all different shapes and sizes

Acres was smashed by groin issues this season but was showing plenty of great signs before this

Nothing wrong with his endurance given his father and uncle were gun athletes/runners and there is sporting heritage on his mothers side

Looking at the photo he has definitely put on upper body size and being over 190cm when fully fit running through the midfield (where he should be used) he is going to be a handful for opposition teams ...... as we have seen previously

Hopefully he is over his groin issues and he can now get a good run at it next season

I don’t think that is laughable at all.

For an elite athlete he looks average.
Not poor or over weight, not peak and elite, but average at that level.

Against the average guy in the street or the local footballer/ sportsman he looks fantastic.
Do you think he has one of the best physical appearances body wise in Australian sport?

Majak Daw probably has the best physique in the AFL, but it’s not doing his performance a world of good.

I think the best physiques for athletes given your criteria of all shapes and sizes are probably light weight boxers, middle weight combat sport fighters & freestyle sprint swimmers. Gymnasts also pretty good pound for pound as are elite track sprinters.

Just my opinion, but I think Blake has an average physique for an elite athlete.

So you have seen him with his top off or are you just going by the shot of his large arm in that dressing room photo?

Pretty simple really - you said for an elite athlete he looks average well going by the photos I posted a lot would disagree with your opinion

I mean sure you could compare him against an Olympic gymnast or a body builder(if that's a sport) but I would say his physique compares extremely favourably against a lot of other AFL footballers and athletes in many other sports for that matter

Pretty simple, I wrote he looks average for an elite athlete and that is my opinion.

Paulo Costa or Sage Northcutt have elite physiques as elite athletes, Shane Mumford is at the non elite end physique wise.

Blake is in the middle (average) in my opinion, sorry if that is not to your liking and happy for others to agree or disagree.

Better Blake models himself on Conan, rather than Doctor Blake.
