Max King to play VFL in 2-3 weeks?

Post: # 1786870Post tedtheodorelogan2018 »

This will be epic.

Realistically, if he puts a few good games together in the VFL then why can't he play some senior footy in the back half of the year. Injuries (touch wood) might force him in anyway at some point. I have watched this kid train. He is a bloody gazelle and a fine specimen.

Also good to see Clavarino is only 1-2 weeks away.

Posters that have admitted they were wrong about Hanna's gastro and the club didn't create a cover story.

He needs to be.

As Dermie said, his days of simply outreaching opposition are over. It's a whole new ball game for him now.

The kid has all the attributes that's for sure. I'm not a huge Brereton fan, but I have to admit Max is in good hands. Still prefer to see Roo mentor him

Winx is Max King, a nickname given to him by the players due to his speed and grace across the turf being reminiscent of the great mare.

We recruited a guy to play football and he will be fit to play football soon.

Mind you, I think it is the first time that this talented junior footballer is going to be up against men, so once he proves himself consistently against men in the VFL, hopefully we'll be able to see whether it's been an epic choice by Lethers choosing King over Rozee

If King is the athlete as described and has below the knees skills to boot, why define him as a forward?

Mid-fielders have evolved as they have so could he be the prototype for the continuing evolution of mid-fielders?

His progress will be of interest - as will be his deployment given his spoken to skill set

I reckon we all need to temper our expectations right down. The kid is coming back from an ACL, has never played against men before, let alone against men the standard of VFL. His brother, who is of similar dimensions and talent hasn't made any sort of impact as yet in the GC. May take 2-3 years before we start to see the dividends of this investment I reckon

Prior to his knee injury he played for the u18 academy team that flogged North Melbourne reserves. In that game he kicked 2.2.

Very similar.
They look similar but are very different type of players.

Ben is a defender first & as a forward is a traditional lead up forward.

Max played as a tall midfielder before moving into the forward line. He’s very agile, takes hangers & as a ground ball player plays like a taller version of Milne. As a junior he was a freak show.

Good ol’ St Kilda, loves a ‘project player’!

How many players from the last 3 national drafts are locked in our best 22? Battle? Maybe Parker?

Who needs players that come straight in and make an impact, having to wait 3 or 4 years makes it much more rewarding!

Worked out well for Kosi.

I didnt know there was a time limit either on when these draft picks had to play.

Clark has been stiff & Coffield needs to work harder. He’s competing with guys like Wilkie, who just wants it more.

The good thing about King rehabbing his knee in his first year he’s had time to get under the iron & build up body strength. Similar to Jake Lever.

From this weeks team: Battle, Paton, Marshall (rookie), Long, Wilkie (rookie), Parker. nearly a 3rd of the team. But don't let facts get in the way of your constant whining
