Hanners playing in 2 weeks

Post: # 1791327Post tedtheodorelogan2018 »

Apparently Hanners will be training with the group this week and is aiming to play in a couple of weeks. Great news along with the beginnings of Maxy Winx King. Hopefully Carlisle isn't too far off either.

Carlisle 5-6 weeks, Hannebury 3-4 weeks, apparently Geary 3-4 weeks. Which is a fair way off considering that they will have to find form or fitness in the magoos first, and we are already heading into round 9 of a 23 round season.

If we're out of finals contention at about the round 18 mark (i.e. if we only have 6-7 wins at that stage) then I'd be putting Jakey in cotton wool and making sure he's cherry ripe for our flag assault in 2020. Give Darragh a block of games in the meantime

Hanners Won't be playing in 2 weeks Ted.

I would say 6-8 weeks before we see him at AFL level, if at all this season.

Could be playing at Sandy in 2 weeks. No Saints for a little bit after that if all goes well I guess.

If you are referring to the 2 weeks then you are showing your age in linking it back to Freeman - the source of the 'joke' is that when Sammy Hammil was listed as out re knees he was listed as 2 weeks - never to play again - was not very funny at the time!

I may be taking this a little to literally, however this has Dan playing on Tuesday 28th May.

Has the AFL gone retro with Tuesday night comp?
Hope it’s at Waverley if they have.

Seriously, I’m assuming you mean Saturday 25th May so perhaps we start a count down click.

9 days until Hanners plays tick, tick, tick

Stop baiting Corfe.

You're not that dumb I hope to realise Hanners will start through the VFL soon and not go straight into the Saints side.

Good to see Dan on the track hey Corfe?

If he pulls up O.K you could probably expect him to play a half at Sandringham in perhaps two weeks from now.

So maybe on June 2nd vs Coburg. Sandy have a Bye week same week as St.Kilda which is not very handy for bringing the guys back through. So it may be on June 16th vs Werribee at Moorabbin.

Basically you wouldn't seriously expect him in the seniors before round 15-16 at the very best. VERY best case.

However if he pulls up sore at any point they would instantly delay the lot and probably go back to close to square one. One breakdown of any sort would probably pull the pin on 2019 completely.

I'm sure they have a game pencilled in for Hanners right now which is quite close. We just have to hope for the best. I would rather they get him right long term instead of him playing and missing footy for the next 5-6 years due to being impatient. Hanners still has plenty of good footy in him IMO. He would have been so valuable in our midfield against the Eagles on Sat night.

Let's face it, any of us would have been pretty handy being on the defensive side (where consistently two of their players seemed to be) of the middle.

In all due respect, and my attempt at humour aside, we so desperately need to shake that area up some, simply doing the same thing every week isn't working
