Devastating outcome if the injury is serious

Most exciting new prospect we've had in years. Even as a VFL debutant he was almost looking a class above

Anyone able to detail what happened exactly?

From Sandy FC Twitterfeed: "It appears Max King has avoided serious injury. More news to come."

Pbly suggests that's he's still quite nervous with the knee... and understandably so.

Still reckon it's too soon for him to play seniors

Really relieved he's ok

Just reported on foxfooty that is not an ACL injury...just bone jarring. Will miss at least one week.

Good news for the young man. Hopefully will gain some confidence that his reconstructed knee can stand up to the rigours of AFL football.

Tunneled in marking contest and landed awkwardly. Looked a jarring motion, that is what it seems to be. Phew.

The footage is making the rounds of the twittersphere - it looks terrible and if he has avoided an ACL tear, it’s a minor miracle - anything could have happened in that contest.

Channel 7 are doing a report on his injury in a minute. They are stating he has suffered a knee injury but that can range from anything really.
Fingers crossed for Max!

EDIT: He has been sent for scans. Wishing and hoping for good news!

It didn't look too bad my guess is he will miss 1 week maybe 2.

It's the kind of injury he may have shook of and kept playing through if he hadn't just come back from ACL.

if we had some of Essendon's experts in the club, he'd be full of steroids and Mexican marching powder up to his eyeballs,
and he would have bounced up again

All reports now say jarring. No damage on preliminary scans to structure of previously injured knee.

Such a relief, but another good reason to take it slowly and get him fully match fit at VFL level

Lonie had a hyperextension, but he didn't have a pre-existing knee injury, hey

Looking at the positive, that incident looked really ugly and it would not have surprised if he did the ACL.

Given the graft is in tact (as reported) it should give Max a lot of confidence his knee will hold up and he can just go for it.

I saw the incident and he went back to take the kick, but decided he couldn’t.
He hobbled off and the medicos checked both knees right in front of me. There was no indication that anything was really amiss. Max walked to the rooms without limping.
My thoughts at the time were that he felt something wrong and no one can blame him for fearing the worst.
This is probably exactly what he needs to know his knee is structurally sound and play with confidence from now on.

After he went off our forward structure fell apart completely.
Saints need Max as soon as possible.
Max King is the future!

I heard from the mrs (who is on facebook - I'm not) that it could be 3-4 weeks and that they were going to put him on ice for the rest of the year. I have no idea but the people who comment on there seem a bit feral so I'm not sure of their veracity.

Really bad landing. Video shows he was tunnelled quite badly. He has a huge spring then lands all his weught hyperextended in that knee.
Exactly like an ACL injury mechanism.
Lucky to get away with that one.
