Re: Bytel
He's a big unit also.
I was talking to him recently at an Auskick clinic.
He seemed well over 1.8m tall.
Lives with Max King at the King family home. He plyed with/against the King brothers over the years.
Said Max was an absolute gun player, totally different style of player to Ben King

Re: Bytel
Smith looks to go alright.
Hopefully Bytel can get back from his back? I know rehab is different (especially nowadays and at a full time elite club)
But I did my back at 17yo in the early 90’s and never ever got full mobility back. I missed the best part of 3 seasons trying to get it right, which included two operations. I was injury plagued basically for most of my playing days. I retired at 44yo a couple of years back and can barely bend over these days.
He could be a real bargain if it does come right though

Ratts won’t leave it until round 15 next year to play him either if you get my meaning...

Re: Bytel
Depends how many injuries we have next year?
Jack has not kicked a ball in anger for 18 months now, basically since the u18 champs last year when he did his back.
He will need a block of VFL games to find his feet and play against men as an inside mid (which he is)
If an opportunity opens up at AFL level then he’ll debut. Wouldn’t surprise me if he spent 8-10 weeks in the vfl.

Not necessarily if he does the full pre season then plays well in the practice matches he is every chance to play Round 1.B.M wrote: ↑Tue 23 Jul 2019 8:10pm Depends how many injuries we have next year?

Re: Bytel
I did my back really badly in a match when I was 23, I had 4 disks removed and I lost an inch in hight but was able to play until 53. What I lost in height I made up for by pushing off harder with the legs when flying at the ball.
Have the courage to call out r ACE ism

Will be a gun. Watch out. We got a top 10 pick here.
Posters that have admitted they were wrong about Hanna's gastro and the club didn't create a cover story.

Re: Bytel
Time will tell that, but as it stands he was a pick in the 40s and every club passed on him at least twice.
I think he might be a bargain too, but really, we have no idea until he starts playing
We also thought H Goddard was a massive bargain

Re: Bytel
Arguably his first year of TAC, he was the best player in the comp. His junior year was outstanding.
There is a highlight reel of him. Can't find it.
Second year he hurt his elbow and then his back. Ruined his year and ruined his draft.
Only special clubs like ours seem to take a punt on the injured players.
This guy could play. Good chance he could be a walk up start at the end of the preseason. The kid is a gun.

Hoping so. Some obvious bad history on our side though with injured players.bigred wrote: ↑Tue 23 Jul 2019 11:34pm Arguably his first year of TAC, he was the best player in the comp. His junior year was outstanding.

Re: Bytel
Lets hope Bytel comes good and is a superstar for us.
As rule I'm against recruiting injured players, the odds are not good.
Bart Cummings never won 12 Melbourne cups by going to the yearling sales are buying young horses with known leg problems.
