Re: Ross Lyon tactics
Great coaching strategy . on Paper they are much more talented than we are and yet through tactic and team effort were able to stifle them. Was it pretty no, but coaches don't get paid for being pretty they get paid for winning.

Re: LDU
the longer it goes the more it appears Battle will test FA market and as is the way will get a greater offer from elsewhere. North and Hawthorn are 2 sides screaming for big defenders. If Battle wants to go to North and LDU genuinely wants to come to Stkilda surely something like Battle and 2nd rou...

Re: AFL vs NRL officiating
In one way cannot believe it was only 4 weeks , in another knowing how neanderthal the NRL still is in many ways not surprised. I like NRL but they still think it is 1990s.Would have been at least 8 in AFL The big difference is the shoulder charge is an illegal act in NRL a smother isn't in AFL. The...

Re: Changes for Gold Coast
Out: Bonner ( just hand over the photos of RL you have and move on ), In: Crouch Ross the sub If King out then I'd go smaller with a Garcia or Phillipou type rather than replaying the Sharman movie we have seen before. Membrey , Cama and Owens as mobile bigger forwards - make it a harder match up fo...

What I learnt from Saturday
Windy is a midfield tagger and not a HBF. Not sure why he wasn't on Reid from the start but great job in the second half to shut him down and win his win his own ball too. King looked better up the ground more . Makes him lead at the ball, Pity he got hurt as needs to get multiple games in a row. Hi...

Re: A shout out to the Warriors!
Hey everyone… was thinking about this for some odd reason yesterday. I’ve been on this site for just under 25 years and I am far from the elder statesman here. In fact, might not even make the top 10 and there are a lot of other forumites that have come on since and contributed a lot over many many...

Deck chairs on the titanic
While the concept throw the magnets around and try to generate something new , especially through the midfield sounds great, if you don't have the points of difference or they aren't performing or ready then it is a useless exercise which causes more harm than good. As I see it Henry, Clark, Owens a...

Re: Mid season draft
I would go down the path, if they exist, of someone passed over int he draft in last couple years - perhaps for lack of physical development, injury or just weren't ready which has shown performance at a lower level and can get better. No recycled , delisted after 3 season players - not where we are...

Selection and Strategy
I must say when i saw the side on Friday I was puzzled by the selections made and it played out that way on Sunday. Sharman was poor the week before and making him the sub makes no sense. It set him up not to succeed. It is clear we still haven't worked out the type of player who should be the sub, ...

Re: Team Saints V Melbourne
clearly there is specific things which players must improve on at Sandy because after watching Sunday surely Garcia should be in.
Crouch and even clark perhaps due to injury history need to build a fitness base?
Emerg to me should be
Bonner , Sharman, Jones , Paton
Sub either Ross or Collard

IF we ignore that a few are underdone and need to either come bank through Sandy or another week at Sandy , here is my guess: B: Stocker, Howard, Wilkie HB: Nas, Battle, Sinclair C:Wood, Crouch, Hill HF: Owens Membrey , Henry F Butler, King, Higgins Foll: Marshall, Steele, Windy INt: Clark, Wilson D...

Out: Bonner, Sharman, Jones, Collard, Paton, Poo
In: Higgins, Membrey, Clark, Stocker, Garcia, Ross/Crouch
If crouch is fit enough then in and Ross in 2s if needs another week then Ross in
Have option to bring him back as sub also .

Re: RoMa in the ruck
Perhaps the fact our mids are struggling to win clearance and we played a very good midfield has something to do with this tactic. Without Crouch we lack clearance strength so to negate this perhaps this is the tactic which has been used.? I think it has everything to do with it and he is probably ...

Re: Zebras v Tigers
Watched on TV and before Richmond became a scene out of MASH in the second half: - Clark, crouch and Garcia all were a level above this - Allisson had a day out. back it up for 2 weeks before consider senior selection . Emergency as a carrot perhaps - Heath was solid again at the level. Still learni...

Re: The Blame game
Gone by 2026 - Crouch, Ross, Webster, Campbell, membrey, Wood, You can add Zak Jones to that list "os", maybe Dougal Howard who I expect will be surpassed by Arie Schoenmaker. Question marks also about Matthew Allison, Ryan Byrnes, Brad Hill (same age as Wood) and possibly Jack Hayes, Dan...

Just watched the reserves and although the opposition wasn't much it was clear a couple things: Clark and Garcia in Crouch was good but needs another week to get a fitness base In: Higgins, Membrey, Clark, Stocker. Garcia Out: Sharman, Bonner, Jones, Paton, Collard B: Wilkie, Howard, Stocker HB: Na...

Re: The Blame game
...... we just are not as good as people believe and again it showed last night. Blaming the coach is the easy thing to do and look how that has worked over 150 years . Clubs Like Geelong and Richmond stuck fat in recent years and now have silverware. We currently lack confidence also which is not ...
