Given a choice I will take watching 25 games of stoggy football resulting in a premiership if that is what it takes. No one remembers the style of football West Coast played in 1994, they just remember theywon the flag. The only reason this gets bought up is the media as they want to sell papers/ in...

Interesting stats between 06 and 08 It's only interesting if you believe that the team didn't do any defending before he got here. He never mentions percentage - a bit better guide of your ability to mix attack/defence. 2004 128.0 2005 133.3 2006 118.4 2007 96.5 2008 110.6 There is no doubt that wh...

Please do not see this as an endorsement of the current management, more a look back at what opportunities were not grabbed. In this time we were a team that wonmore game sthan we lost but without a GF appearance, let alone a premiership you can not say we were successful, as all teams should play f...

Previous Management have put us here
As i ponder the start of the 2009 season I was thinking back over the last 5 or so years and the opportunities missed by those in charge of the club. Not the ones we all talk about - Guerra's missed kick, Hall's punch, Hamill's injuries etc, I mean the ones which could have moved the StKilda FC into...

AFL is the only game in the world where supporters and the media expect 18 year old boys to come in and have an immediate impact on a mans game. This game is one of the most hard on the body games that exists. Young bodies going up against solid hard men week in week out. Sure you will get the odd f...

Wouldn't take too much from the game. Wet conditions made pretty much all the big guys useless. Probably why Bris didn't have a proper ruck. Thought Heyne was OK and Geary as well. Not really expecting much from experienced players as you do not want them firing in Feb. Great to see Maguire playing ...

I don't think our win was an abberation, but I was surprised we lost to them during the finals - Ball was definately a major factor, as was the fatigue of a long season. However, the Hawks were missing a couple key players in the season game. We've had the wood on the Hawks for some time, so that w...

Unfortunately i think so. Hawthorn swicthed off at half time and we smashed them but when it mattered we were smashed in the prelim. Both teams have players on the up and on the fall, however Hawthorn seem to have had more players recently who have gone to the next level. To compete we need to get p...

Missing Hayes - shame on Me. Defintely in for Ball . Baker more consistant over the journey so far. McAdam performmed in Big games - Dal yet to do that D Wakelin - always performed in big games also- 97 prelim and GF and Port GF You judge Dal heavier than Milne when it comes to that (big games) and...

Why is everyone so set on moving our best rebound defender to the forward line. He reads play well but not a great contested mark and HB is easier to play running forwardthan HF where you have to turn on a sixpence CHF for pre season perhaps try one of the young blokes or Gwilt. Really menas nothing...

Best Team that Harvey played with
Not sure if this has been done but thought about the all the players Harvey played with over 21 seasons and put together a best team .Obviously he is not in there. B: Shanahan, Frawley, Hudghton HB: Grant, D Wakelin, Barker C: A Jones, Winmar ,McAdam HF: Reiwoldt, Loewe, Hamill FF: Gerhig, Lockett, ...

Richmond picked Cousins because it has a lame duck president who already dislikes the coach and is completely guided by K Sheedy. Works perfectly for him no finals Wallace gone, Finals he is the saviour. Wallace has to agree as without finals he is gone, if not gone anyway. Sheedy has a messiah comp...

Gwilt or Gilbert for Me Gwilt is a strong mark, good evasive skills and can kick. Gilbert is good size and was shown up in defence v Hawthorn in the final with his man just pushing to the square, exposing his shrinking ring every time he got closer to goal. McEvoy would make us too slow with Kosi an...
