We wanted Goldsack and pick 30. They offered Wellingham and pick 60-something. We refused as we said we wouldn't use the pick. End of story. Wellingham would've been a fantastic addition in hindsight. I guess at the time though we had Andrew Lovett lined up so I can see why we didn't go for that.

If the media left it alone then maybe we could all move on. But the fact is it serves some parties' agendas to paint Lyon and the club as scapegoats for losing Luke Ball and/or not playing him for long enough in last year's GF and thus costing the Saints a premiership. Which is utter BALLS. The fac...

Well, regardless of what happened, this argument has been done to death. There's nothing we can do about it now. History will show that Ball joined Collingwood, won a premiership medal, and the two/three blokes he was getting dropped for, while at St Kilda, had absolutely no influence on the GF what...

Beej, I realize tha Luke Ball was/is a hero to you so I read your posts on this topic in that light. But boy, have you managed to try and make the facts fit the version you're comfortable with. It obviously helps you to believe that in this instance Ball was 'white anted' by Lyon and 'forced out' o...

On ON THE COUCH tonight they were discussing him, one of them (I think Mike) said " HE never wanted to leave St Kilda", and the other two just agreed. That it still the precieved view of the football media. Gerard and James Hird are not the types to just go along with things, but they agr...

Geelongs is 'it's in our DNA, is it in yours' They've just ripped off the new Tasmanian club's idea. I thought the new Tasmanian club's slogan was "It's in our DNA, and everyone else's on this island!"??? Sorry...couldn't help myself. "The Tasmanian Devils - Related We Stand."

It never ceases to amaze how you find these things bratty. The other week I was most impressed when you found a mention of Miles in an American newspaper. You must have a list of every search engine known to man and then go through them one by one entering St Kilda players' names and related terms. ...

Interestingly, of those supporters who choose t...

People have got the whole leaving/staying thing wrong IMO. Stayers People who stay aren't hurt by the loss to the same extent as people who leave, which is why they're able to stay. People who stay are naturally uncompetitive people. People who stay are more accepting of defeat and failure. Leavers ...

Obviously having a serious discussion with someone who clearly has never played football like your self is impossible. If I wanted to start this as an excuse thread I would of listed it as reason why we couldnt win. I simply put on the table what Ross confronted in the two grand finals. Could I jus...

Roo's coulda rolled on... Milne's coulda popped into his arms or done a Leigh Brown... Sometimes luck is the difference. Undeniable. Granted, but... Roo's could have also bounced up allowing Maxwell to gather and clear. Lenny Hayes' kick could've gone straight out of bounds as it looked like it was...

I'm tired of hearing the injuries excuse. As the players say, "control the controllable". Injures while unlucky are not controllable. Fact remains, when the game was there to be won, we lacked the composure, the nerve, the bottle to take our opportunities. That's how I saw it. We still ha...
