Re: As a Neutral Supporter

Blake came into the team showing lots of promise. There was a lot to like.

Over time, he became slow and ponderous and telegraphed every move. In one of his last games for us, he had three successive kicks smothered because of this. Became a liability.

Re: Someone famous at Moorabbin

Just watched some Ed Sheeran footage on YouTube of the MCG concert Sorry but I just don’t get it. He’s a guy out there with a guitar jumping around playing to recorded music he has attracted that many people so I guess he is doing something right but I nearly fell asleep watching him Don’t get me w...

108,000 at the MCG to see Ed Sheeran last night, and you can bet your life not one of them had heard of David Gilmour, or Pink Floyd actually! 😀

Re: Someone famous at Moorabbin

Why couldn't it be someone like David Gilmour? :( First I had to google who this Ed character was, now I’ll have to look up David Gilmour🤔🤷🏽‍♀️ I know who Ed is but never heard of David Gilmour. Guess we are getting on Loris. Wow. To some of us 69-year-olds, David's really famous!

Glad to see him join the club he supports and hoping he does really well.

Just hope he doesn't end up playing 20 games in three years and running out for Hampton Rovers.

None of the 14 sports journalists at the Age had us finishing higher than 11th. In that sense, despite huge disappointments and excruciating missed opportunities, we've exceeded expectations. All those journos would have said we had a very disappointing 2021 season.. And so now we are here...and th...

Re: Coaches:Can they borrow from other sports?

Peter Schwab once asked Alex Ferguson what he did with players who can't kick.

Ferguson replied that he didn't have any players who can't kick.

How's that for a novel idea?!

Re: Positives

In some ways, at least for three quarters, our worst performance since the '80s. We don't, to all intents and purposes, appear to have anything resembling a plan A, let alone a plan B. Even if we did, there wouldn't be much point. Very few have the requisite skills, either by hand or foot. As for de...

Sheer determination and single mindedness. Most players with his ability don't make. Best mates with Joel Selwood. Grew up playing footy together. Both with the same attitude. Would be in the top 10 bravest players I've seen in a St Kilda guernsey Has every right to be proud of his achievements This

I know we lost it in the first half, etc, etc, but all hope really went out the window with that jumper tug on Schneiderman.

I still maintain we would have won it had that free been paid.

Dermie couldn't have been at Victoria Park in 1970.

Harry Beitzel admitted on TV that night that Jolley had determined the outcome of the game.

You know what, I still get angry about that game. Doesn't pay to have a long memory, sometimes.

Re: As bad an umpiring performance you’ll see.

For what's it's worth, I thought the umpiring was shocking, especially in the 2nd half. They pulled frees for Carlton out of the air. Must have been 5 or 6 times, there would be a normal 50-50 tussle in a marking contest, or a seemingly clean contest at a centre bounce, and Carlton would get a mysti...
