I cant think of too many players who have come back from a reconstruction better than BJ. I do think he'd be wasted at CHF though. Better value for the team through the midfield. His vision and disposal are as good as anyone going around. I'd rather have him hitting Roo and Kosi on the chest 9 time ...

At the moment Gwilt is being forced to play in defence because of our lack of other options, both in the short term (with Goose out) and longer term (with Max retiring any minute). I think even Ross Lyon knows he is better suited elsewhere but it's worth giving him a go and seeing what happens. For ...

Hard to believe he's the same player that started his career. I thought he got a lot of games in his first couple of seasons he didn't deserve. Now he reads the play perfectly, can play tall or small and uses the ball well. An inspired draft pick.

As if we'd need to double team Fevola? Fisher wouldn't have anything to do.

It seems as though in recent years coaches have had such an obsession with having run out of the back line that they keep playing midfielders on the half back line (Gram and Goddard are classic examples). Hopefully Lyon is starting to realise that players cause more damage if they're kicking it into...

It's been interesting that since Milne and Dal were dropped we seem to be getting a much more even contribution. Very few passengers the last few weeks and the performances have improved as a result.

Unless Ross changes the game plan and G is allowed to play out of the square we're not likely to see him again and I can't see it happening. Also counting against him is that we've played better footy without him this year.

Easiest to stop Fev is to stop the ball getting down there in the first place. We can't expect Max to do the job if he doesn't get the support. It's up the midfield to restrict the quantity and quality of supply.

I'm not too fussed about who we draft as long as we don't trade any of our picks for other clubs rejects. Let's use all of our picks on the best 18 year olds available (who will hopefully become 10 year players). I'm not a big believer in rebuilding. I think if you're using your picks in the nationa...

This is why he gets a game every week and why, if we ever got rid of him, he would get picked up by another club. They are prepared to look at his work rate and the effort he puts in.

I mentioned in another thread, it was 14.4 kms to Roo and 13.2 to Blake. It shows why Blake gets a game each week and why, if we delsited him, he would get picked up by another club.

Showed why he is captain tonight. Did everything in the air, on the ground, kicked goals when we needed them and set them up for others.
I think his first one from just inside 50 really set the tone.

I liked how at one point the commentators said that Corey Jones must be carrying an injury because he hadn't had much of it. No credit to Blake at all.
While on Blake, Reiwoldt covered 14.4 kms during the game, Blake covered 13.2. We all marvel at Roo's endurance but should give Blake some credit.

He needs to pull his finger out. And given that he is out of contract at the end of the season he'd want to do it sooner rather than later.

Harvs always suffers due to not having a high profile. Saying he didn't captain a premiership team is rubbish. A team doesn't win a flag solely because of it's captain. Buckley's only in there because he captained Collingwood. There's no reason for putting Voss, Buckly and Cousins ahead of him. Read...

I, along with most, was surprised that Gilbert was picked for the Saints immediately after a long lay off. Having said that, it just shows that Ross obviously rates him and thinks he'll get up to speed quicker playing for the Saints than if he was playing in the VFL. I'm more surprised about Gwilt's...

I remember struggling to get into the southern stand because they were starting to close the gates. Sat front row top deck above the players race. Fantastic view of a fantastic game. No Lockett for us, no Daicos for them but it made no difference. One of the best games I've attended.

While, like everyone else, I'd love to see him gone on, the worst thing he could do would be to play one year too many. I really want him to go out as the champion he is and not have him struggle through a season.

I'd like to see Gwilt get a chance to play a more attacking role if we are going to persist with him. I was speaking to a guy last week who said he saw Gwilt play the year before we drafted him and he was a gun. The difference being that he played on the wing (and that he was playing in a lesser com...
