Re: Clark and Dow
The stoppage game as we knew it a few years ago is dead. Games are won by turnover and ball movement.
Unfortunately we have a few too many one dimensional players who are too focused on stoppage.

Re: Will Phillips anyone??
Similar boat to Paddy Dow. I haven't seen him play but he is obviously not seen as a big part of their future plans.
If we can get him for a 3rd rounder or a depth Backman - straight swap for Cordy could be win win.

Re: Clark and Dow
Need a group of solid players, with two at the elite level, to challenge for a flag.
Don't think Clark or Dow will get to that next level but will be a core part of our midfield for years.

Agree with all of the points you've made, nobhead. Only part of coaching is game plan and match day magnet moving. Skills, leadership, practice, mental state, teamwork, connection. Just some of the things that our extended coaching team are responsible for. These are even more important when you hav...

I'm not sold on Cordy's 1v1 ability. Better with the ball than Dougal but not as good defensively.

I don't disagree but we really missed Webster at the start of the year. Need 1 more small defender, Paton is the obvious choice just needs some confidence back.
Give him Charlie Cameron next week.

Should have put them away early, but ended up needing to get gifted 2 goals out of our 7 to win the game.

Re: Finals team
Not yet, but if they're well developed and well coached it could be the bones of a prelim and hope to snag it from there. Beyond that you would have to be a dominant side with stacked draft picks, academy, and father sons.

Lyon looked much better in the presser today, thought that was the most upbeat he's been all season.

To be fair, Crouch did only look like he was at 80% in the VFL match. Still picked up a bag of possession and clearances.

Max has previously held most of the bargaining power in his contract deals in the past. Don't think that will be the case for his next contract.

Disappointed in team selection but not surprised.
I will say I dont think crouch and Ross will play in the same side this year.

Re: LDU
Going hard in the draft again this year means no trading for players. We don't have our own 2nd rounder so hope Adelaide doesn't finish the season strongly as we have theirs. Then in 26 we go hard for FA and if there are players available to trade in we go then too. The list management strategy is s...

2026. North will be under cap pressure like GWS and GC were with all their high picks.
Or 2025 trade for Howard - a win win.

Forward coach should be first on our wishlist this year. Someone that will be considered the saviour of King's career.

Haven't we learned that drafting first rounders on need is doomed to fail?

Re: Sandringham v Frankston
Build players to their strengths, it's simple.
If it's 50/50 or even 60/40 where their role is, play them where the club needs them the most.
I suspect we are trying to shoehorn Pou into an inside mid in a 20/80 shot.

Someone (at the club, in selection, coaching, development) thinks he is a Matt Rowell type, because that's how they're playing him.

Hopefully can add a ball winning string to his bow but should be putting his stoppage work into getting the ball in dangerous positions.

Re: Let's Talk About the Elephant In the Room
1. Spread defenders 2. Lower eyes into 50 3. IF King draws a crowd…look elsewhere I’m convinced we resort to bombing into 50 not because it’s our “game plan” It’s because our players resort to this and slamming it on the boot when under pressure from better opponents I do think it’s psychological/i...
