Shocking commentary. The commentators were almost in tears.
The way the NRL does the post match is really weird too haha.

Re: Gut feeling about our young players
Newnes is extremely highly rated by the coach. In the pre-season he talked up his leadership as 'Lenny-like' and said that they expected him to be elite in 18-24 months. He's then backed that up by playing him in 7 games. Despite the higher picked Seb Ross and Markworth only managing 1 game between ...

Re: Could today be the last time Goddard plays for Saints?
Saints will have to match the offer otherwise they lose him for nothing. Crazy f****** rule No, I believe if we let him go now we get the compensation pick. If we match it, Goddard can choose to stay here or if he wants to go we can do a proper trade (probably best case scenario) or he can leave, a...

Another big plus is hit attitude.
Remember reading about him last pre/off season about him being at the club everyday to train.
Gets a lot of it. Can't really comment on his pace or skills but I reckon he's a chance to make it. Will be a rookie at the very least next year.

Re: 2008 Draft
I remember just before that draft everyone was hoping for Hurley to slide or to pick up Trengove.
Then some rumours about Saints being keen on Lynch...Who's Tom Lynch...?
Alas.
Is it cancelled out by getting Siposs at 75? And picking up Newnes with the pick we got for Lynch?
I hope so.

Re: Sad Saad
silly post , young first year players are always inconsistant . Haha and not to mention he's a first year player playing in the toughest position on the ground! Give him bit of a break there. He's a goal sneak! Milney has had lots of quiet games, we don't (or shouldn't) knock him everytime he's qui...

Head =Gun! How he didnt play last year is beyond me. Automatic selection in first 21 for me. He actually did get two games last year. Same two games that Ledge played. Think he ended up injured which was why he didn't get anymore games. Could tell from those two games he was gonna be a good one tho...

Would be happy with any of Ross, Ledger or Markworth. Ray into the middle for a full game and Markworth sub...Although tbh Watters hasn't really messed the youngsters around with the sub. Milera straight in, Saad only had one week as sub, Newnes had 5 full games IIRC? May well see a youngster get a ...

Newnes was rated around 50-60 in most of the BF ones. And most said he was a pretty good pick at that stage. And obviously with what we've seen thus far. Looks like it may have been an inspired pick.

After rd 12 all clubs had the ability to upgrade a rookie with a LTI if i remember correctly. So in short yes he could be promoted. It's both. We can upgrade a rookie after round 12. As well as with a player on the LTI. So we could upgrade 2 rookies. And I think if it's due to a LTI that it doesn't...

Re: St Kilda star Brendon Goddard on GWS radar
So the entire article is basically SOS saying 'We know he's no chance of leaving, but we'd love to have him'. Man, I wonder if Watters could command an article like that talking about Buddy. 'Yeah, he's really happy at Hawthorn, signed up, said he wants to be a one club player....but if anything hap...

Re: $8.78 million
If these figures are roughly correct , we've got a hell of allot of overpaid players . And we've got a hell of a lot of incompetent contract negotiators... Remember a lot of these contracts would have been written/signed when we were winning 19 in a row and on our way to 2 grand finals. Roo and BJ ...

Re: VFL Rd 11 - Sandy vs Frankston- RADIO- game day
Thanks for the reports everyone. How did Markworth go? I know he's rated highly from within. Got a lot of the ball, almost took a really good mark. Has a lot of pace and seems pretty fit already. Just seems to lack a bit of composure with the ball, went on a bit of a run down the wing and ended up ...

And Blakey puts us 44 points up. Somehow.
Saad's kicking action is beautiful. Why are they not all doing it?
