can't help but see similarities between the dockers of 2010 and the saints of 2004. good young team that has had a great opening 10 rounds. very exciting. but at some stage in 2004 we fell in a bit of a heap and got a bit tired. people were talking about us that year like they are talking about the ...

mountains out of molehills?
first and foremost: i think it is clear we have issues with form and skill we need to deal with to become a threat. however, i feel that over the last few weeks we have come up against our 'bogey' sides. although our win/loss record against carlton was impressive (incredibly impressive in fact)...we...

roo's importance isn't just in the goals he kicks, he is our number one bail out option on the wing and half forward. every time i have been to a saints game in the last 2 years I have muttered at several occasions 'when in doubt kick it to riewoldt'. i think that the players next in the chain run o...

Boy did we suck tonight...
Absolutely nothing went right tonight.
In the last quarter the amount of mistakes we made indicated that our confidence is shot to pieces.
I wonder what Ross does, does he give them a bake? Or try on build on some made up positive from tonight?

i cant help but think that people are getting a bit carried away with stanley's nab cup form. he is going to be a great player, but he hardly 'dominated' in the nab cup. further, key forward/ruck youngsters rarely make an impact in their first few full seasons. as tempting as it is to 'blood youngst...

wouldnt surprise me if nothing much changed in regard to the approach of other teams. most teams tend to set up with a loose man in defence playing the 'quarterback' role these days. hodge does it for hawthorn, adelaide normally have someone back, maxwell doesnt do anything else for collingwood and ...

as much as i thought that when i saw it after the game, on retrospect i think he was just devastated at a loss that they thought they should have won. as much as we would have loved luke to stay. he was smart enough to see the writing on the wall..all it took was one young midfielder to step up (arm...

was a great win for many reasons. and it was incredible. but a few recent games we have to stack it up against: 1. rd 14 v geelong last year? 2. harvey's 350th v west coast? 3. v adelaide qf a couple of years ago? 4. prelim v doggies last year? loved the win tonight. but the other ones were pretty s...

the fact that lovett's lawyers have decided to go through the grievance tribunal does not mean that they will not go to court. it is likely that they will go to court regardless. one of the things i hear over and over again at law school is 'explore every option', so make no mistake if lovett's lawy...

kosi in the ruck last night...
interesting to see last night in the fourth quarter (maybe also in the third, i forget...) that kosi was playing in the ruck. given mcevoy, king (and to a lesser extent stanley) were all playing it was an interesting move... leigh tudor was coaching last night, do you reckon this was his decision to...

well..look at it this way...by losing x. clarke, m. maguire and l. ball..we really needed to draft someone in to give the medical staff something to do. those three guys + m.gardiner have been the most medically intensive guys on our list over the last three years...maybe ross thinks that without a ...

very happy with this. i remember the first time we played essendon this year...he was a worry and from memory it was a bit of a breakout game for him. he was in my supercoach team this year so i watched him quite closely. and i am stoked he is now in the red black and white. more video evidence. che...
