They doubled them up for 2 years my mate just told me Just had a look at the Brownlow Votes website and it would appear that Dempsey has 217.5 votes (adjusted by halving votes in 1976/77) Currently Harves is #2 on 202(prior to this year) and Dempsey is #1 on 217.5 How many do you reckon he will get...

It was Lethal.

Sadly Harvs can't catch up 42 votes in this and next year.

Sorry folks, he won it the year before the double votes thing. It is still the reason he has heaps of votes though.

379 if he plays 20 matches next year ... that puts him 3rd on the all-time games list. Should have the most Brownlow votes of all time when he finishes too. Only problem is Gary Dempsey having won the brownlow during one of the two years the umpires each gave separate votes he got something like 58...

Hmm, its odd for Harvey to say he will not be in the retirees parade on grand final day. And now he is holding a press conference? Very odd for him to go to the measure of holding a press conference but not wanting to be in the thing where they get a farewell at the MCG.

they are still required to show up though even when they are injured. They would still have spoken a lot on the sidelines.

P.S. I am in favour of all the arguments for not bidding for Judd. But watch out for what happens: I reckon this mob might do anything bar trade Riewoldt for Judd. They are desperate to hang onto their jobs, and may well see getting Judd to the club as the key to maintaining the support of the memb...

The only reason Judd would want to come to the Saints, isthat he wouldn't have to play on Bakes anymore, offset that against having to go man on man with him at training, juddy might just quit after a training session or two. I would rather build a defense around goose than trade him for a player w...

Lesson learnt here is to name you kid after a player after they have retired or with it is far too late to change clubs, although there was awkwardness with Winmar.

excellent post, quite an enjoyable read. Raised my spirits. However this : 1) Because those lauding the sacking of Thomas supported the Board in their decision. And as is the way on here, once you make an alliance, you fight tooth and nail to defend it. So, those defending the Board back then, conti...

Its pretty funny that they are referring to him now as Judas. I would be seriously pissed off if i was a WC supporter, i would go as far as to express it in such a way through. Apparently, according to a poster on eaglesflyinghigh, his mum lives in Sydney.

Hell, if i was an opposition player i wouldn't want to play on Bakes.

Judd will not come to Saints.

If i were in his position i would be very happy with Hawthorn.

Hope to hell he doesn't go to the Filth.
