Spose there is no harm in trying to get Gaz as well, but I don't reckon we'd be able to fit him in the salary cap and I highly doubt he'd leave Gold Coast cause he is contracted for several years.

Nathan Ablett

His name was brought up in another thread, but I think it deserves its own thread. What are peoples thoughts about drafting this guy with a late pick? He is a premiership player and has loads of potential, but suffered from a few injuries this year and was unable to break into what was a pretty soli...

Definitely worth a crack. I rate this guy, he reckon he'd be a good depth player for when Milne retires.

Nathan Ablett was the one delisted, not Gary. As far as im aware Gary is under contract for several years and is enjoying life up on Gold Coast.

I reckon we should target some tall type players who can ruck and also play forward. We have McEvoy, but i think he needs some help. We should target guys like Mitch Clarke, Shaun Hampson or Todd Goldstein. Don't just look at Gold Coast guys. Maybe we look at Nathan Ablett too, he was recently sacke...

I read about it at some betting site below

Doesn't look that official, but still sounds pretty positive anyway. I also heard it mentioned on SEN just before.

Congratulation Ross on deciding to stay

This is a monumental day for St Kilda FC with Ross Lion deciding to stay on at the Saints. Id like to congratulate the board as well for getting the deal stitched up. This guy is exactly what we need going forward, despite the two Grand Final chokes in 2009-10. We definitely were capable of winning ...

I hope he does become coach. In a way. I have got a lot of DVDs to watch and some gardening to do, and I might finally get top marks on this St Kilda quiz http://www.sporcle.com/games/DJDaForce/StKilda00s I certainly wouldn't be watching St Kilda on the weekends if he was coach... What do you mean?...

Lets not get side tracked here please. Who cares if Malthouse said this about Milne (he denied he said it anyway...). If the Pies win the premiership this year, Malthouse has won twice as many premierships in 12 months than the Saints have in 115 years. Now i hate to put it so bluntly but it is true...

Yeah i hear what your saying St Chris, but surely we could move on from him saying that. I mean, if he brought us a premiership then it would all be ancient history.

Mick Malthouse

Now i know he isnt the most popular chap here on the forum, especially after he confirmed Milne was a rapist a few years ago. But seriously, he is one of the greatest coaches of the modern era and surely if Lyon leaves we would have to take a serious look at him? Surely we could put personal demons ...

I dont think it was a total waste of a season anyway. After such a terrible start, we came home very strong and did well to make the finals.

We are heartbroken, feel sorry for myself, the club and the boys. However, I would rather go out now than have false hope, loose the Prelim or another GF. This way the boys get a couple of extra weeks off, hopefully get their ops out of the way early, giving them longer to recover and regroup. I re...

We should move on to a similar deal to what Carlton and Essendon do. They play half their home games at MCG and half at Etihad. Obviously we wouldn't be able to pull the types of crowds clubs like that can, but i reckon we could seriously get over 50,000 to some games at the MCG. In return we'd make...

Good question about Dawes. Unsure if GWS are circling or if he is about to sign for the Pies or what, but he'd look great in our forward line. He is a great mark, a great kick at goal and is still only young. As for the poster who said we look at trading Roo. I couldn't disagree more, sure he has ha...

Agree with all that has been said. I reckon drafting players who can handle pressure is a must. This is an area we have struggled in recently with the 2009 and 2010 Grand Final chokes, plus all those prelims over the past decade. I reckon keep Ross Lyon, he has done an amazing job with the cattle he...
