At least it may give us an option, not necessarily to look for a strong mobile full forward, but perhaps a CHF instead.
No opponents are gonna double and triple team Roo at FF if we had someone who was dead eye from 45-55 metres out and a permanent threat.

But who.......... :D

Now which sounds better? :P The Saints theme song at game end compared to the north theme song? Well that goes without saying  But with deference to Sam, BJ and the other good'uns in defense I would much prefer our forward line attempt to take a contested mark then some of our backline. If...

Positive - keep kicking it forwards for the whole game and if our opponents get the ball it will be in their defensive 50, and if they don't we are one kick away from a score. Negative - keep kicking it backwards, and if our opponents get the ball, they score, and if they don't get the ball we are s...

Roo at FF

Could not get to the game, but the commentators on the radio were saying how Roo was playing close to goal for the entire first half. For those who watched the game was it true? How did he look staying inside the 50 more then most games? Do you think it is something Ross will work on? Or possibly we...

No offense but what does Ross say to the players at half time "Ok boys we have given the supporters their moneys worth, now choke the life out of the game" You are joking aren't you. Coming off the bye, against the form team in the competition who are desperate to win, and who have...

Raph just needs to get into the right head space. In the VFL he dominates because he does not feel the exposure, not as many see him play down there, so way less pressure. At AFL level he has the demons of the past in his head, constantly worried he will make the same mistakes over and over, self fu...

Going on the teams we have beaten, Melbourne especially, and then looking at their form, bar the Queens Birthday game, I think we are not doing too badly. The next few weeks will show if we are serious or not at having another shot at the finals, all winnable games the next few.

Inside Outside

Farren Ray kicks the ball down the line, into our 50, ball goes out on the full. James Gwilt kicks it down the middle into our 50, Kosi marks and goals from no angle. Going down the boundary line may be ok in the middle of the ground, but please guys not into the forward 50. Either you are gonna giv...

Offer Fev minimum payments and see how much he really wants to play AFL again. With few suitors he would have little choice, and if he screwed up we could dump him at little cost to us. We could sure use someone who just loovvess to play and beat the pies ever since 99. If he came good then good luc...

To top off the Polo mistake right after the break Dayne Beams took a mark that clearly came off the hands of a teammate then they kicked another goal right after that. Thanks umps, you turned a match into a mismatch. Guess Mick Malthouse now thinks Beams is a cheat because he clearly claimed somethi...

I would say two occasions

the game against Hawthorn a few years back that was a flood fest, and had both coaches pinning the blame for it on each other
AND
the game that made Max cry against the Bulldogs way back :?

Is more just a commentary that both ways, run and gun footy and now Saints footy have come up with the same result. Would I be happier though if we lost the grand final after smashing teams like 03-05? I have to say I would be a little, may have even got to run on the ground when our forward kicked ...

Some of those players were not the most talented, but were given a chance. That is all we need to do this time, give them a chance, to gain experience, and hopefully blend into the team in time and do a top job for us. I mean Brett Voss was not the most talented either, but we gave him a chance, and...

I would still prefer to lose 150-149 then 39-38.

Run and gun Saints rocked :D

Would go to games and know something would always happen, short of one kick we would have made the gf in 04, so the similarities are there in results at least :D

Our defense was mean too back in that era, I remember one game seeing David King almost break his foot our man smothered his kick so hard. One thing I loved about back then was when the ball would come out of our forward 50 you knew it was only a matter of time before it came straight back in again :D
