Re: Aftermatch thread

I accept that watching it on telly I was at a disadvantage, but geez we were lucky to scrape home. I'm still not convinced that Lyon has the on-field structure right. Dal seemed to play most of the game down back, and Joey spent a lot of time down there as well. Gilbert and Gram didn't figure enoug...

Have to agree on this. Can see Kosi, Bakes, Lenny, G, and yes Gardiner and even Armo...but Goose may have some mongrel in him, but the '05 incident with Hall really does eliminate any fear others may have.... We miss Powell and obviously Hamill IMO. Maybe Hayes can become the Powell of 04/05 and Arm...

Back on topic, how Robo leaves Milne and M Gardiner out astounds me.
OK maybe Max with injury may struggle, but when fit is in our best 18 until someone can learn to spoil at least.

i really like goose as a player but i think he is an attacking chb rather than a close-checking, spoiling full back. I don't agree with this. I think it's a view that has developed over the past year or two. Since Goose battled OP, he hasn't had that closing speed that he had in his first couple of...

You only need three or four speedsters in the team to break the lines. Look at Geelong. Their midield has Bartel, Corey, Ling and co. who have never been seen as super-quick. They are no quicker than the Saints, and they had a super season in 2007 True, you need some speed in your team, but just ho...

I suspect their share of the football market is considerably more than that though.
Yes true, but the $$$$ would still be very minor, surely

I don't hate GT, but I think he does need to move on He's not Robinson Crusoe there. No he'sot but he's driving the ship so to speak. If he stops so do these threads Why would he stop? In fact, threads & issues like this are only going to increase his asking price in the market. Rather ironic I...

Even funnier was his comment that he didn't rate us because we rely on a bloke who's 36! if you look again at the last 10 minutes then sadly i think he might have a point Sadly? Won't be sad when we win the flag with Banger leading the charge. s***, the only thing better than a St Kilda flag would ...

It amazes me in a thread bagging GT because of his comments on Harv's we could get a comment on Alves without a mention of his slandering of the great man. I'm not surprised though. The same people that are GT's main critics also seem to speak glowingly of Alves. Talk about selective memory. Alves ...

Thought C Gardiner struggled last night, and I thought it was Fiora's best game so far.
Was quiet in the first half but his last quarter helped set up the game.
Am not always a fan but he must be in the mix.

Thanks JB, but I'm still in the dark on what he actually said that was so bad. I heard the grab of Dermie's rant replayed on SEN. Typical *sniff* Dermie *sniff* . I expect irrational comments from him and is comments were embarrassing. I also heard GT on SEN after the event, including yesterday, bu...

Good to hear on Armo, did wonder.
Would like to say that I didn't think they panicked or coughed it up at all, Gilbert was beaten but that's OK.
Agreed its a learning experience, was just hoping to see one of them bob up a bit more.

Only disappointment

Were the youngsters tonight. Been so good for most of the NAB Cup but struggled a little bit tonight in a big game and against a big bodied, hard running team. Geary - Started slowly, but did work his way into the game and finished well on Goodwin Armitage - very quiet (not sure on his game time tho...

Now that I've heard what was said I feel like I can comment (that is if what SEN played today was the bulk of what was said). It never ceases to amaze me the reaction GT has on people. At the end of the day "Special Comments" men get paid to make big calls. Harvey hasn't played up to his own lofty standards, we as St Kilda supporters quite rightly realise it's only February and cut the man the slack he deserves. This said, a special comments commentator wouldn't be doin...

GT on SEN this morning. Called Dermie's comments insightful, thought the same himself, but didn't want to kill off Bambi so to speak. Reckons he is most qualified to speak as no one has coached Harvs in as many games. Also said (which I found interesting) that Harvs' last half of 2007 was poor and h...
