I've never quite understood the philosophy behind sacking a coach without giving him time to: A) build the list he wants and B) put in place a gameplan that reflects the list. now on A) - many of you will say 'hang on, Ross inherited a good list'. WRONG. Ross inherited a list that in '04/'05 had the...

As I've mentioned recently, Xav just doesnt have a body to stand up to the rigours of AFL football. Im continually frustrated, as he would be, by never being able to string together consistent matches in a row. He will continue to frustrate us as a player who shows glimpses of brilliance but never p...

Brown-Coat Luke Ball is one of the few players actually playing with some heart at the minute. If everyone played with his intensity then I think our season would be a different story. Raph Clarke/Xavier Clarke - both are tradeable/delistable in my opinion. Xavier doesnt have the body for AFL footba...

Stephen Im abit harsh on Dal - but only because I want him to dominate games like I think he should.
Ive named him solely but really I refer to most of our midfield as a unit. At the moment they are just playing in patches.

You may well be right Teflon.

I may also be living in dream land. But I just have to see some changes before seasons end. I need some light at the end of the tunnel!

I agree with most of your categorys. And to be honest the coaching staff at the end of the year will go through the same process. Until we get ruthless we will continue to fall behind other teams. For mine, if the Clarke brothers are traded I would not be uhappy. Xavier just doesnt have a body to st...

Time to Start Again.

Todays loss hurt as much as any of the worst Ive viewed as a saints fan. Im starting to realise that our predictions for this season have been totally over estimated. There are problems at our club that are going to take a long time to rectify. We've over estimated our lists ability: I will exclude ...

Would love to see Kossie play in the Ruck today and be given the freedom to run around the ground.

I think he's looked very frustrated playing at FF in recent weeks, although he did kick 4 against Brisbane.

Just heard on MMM that Blake and Harvey may both miss this game.

This was reported by Doc Larkins.

If fiora plays then i will go ape. Surely McQualter is a better option.
Would be interesting to see who replaces Blake if he doesnt play.

Here are the requirements for me to be happy with Fiora getting another AFL game for StKilda: 1. I have to hear that he is dominating VFL footy. 2. I have to hear that he is putting his head over the ball. 3. I have to hear that he is actually laying a dead-set takle. Until those boxes are ticked th...

2006 Final

Dont like bringing up bad memories but found a tape of the 2006 elimination final vs. Melbourne. After watching it my respect for Aaron Hamill went up ten-fold. If you watch the game he is actually visibly limping throughout most of it, yet still manages to lay takles and perform admirably. Really f...

enjoy the hardness and run that were are playing with today.

just continually frustrates me that we cant finish by kicking straight.

we should be 11 goals up in this and game over. i really wish kossie and roo were polished infront of the sticks.

Thanks for clearing that up. I guess the question is where he would be played? From what Iv seen Gardiner and King arent our problem, its the lack of quality depth in the midfield at their feet. Personally I'd be giving King and Gards every chance to improve their partnership. Gards in particular wi...

the only way big mac should get a game is a replacment for king or gardy. not becuase of lack of skill. but because otherwise we will get thrashed from to much hight and no mobility. Aren't Ben's main attributes height and mobility? Iv heard he moves across the ground reasonably well and being 200c...

Where does everyone think Ferguson will play? Im thinking as a forward, but I hear he has been used down back for casey as well. Has good hands and from memory is a decent kick. I remember he played 1 game last yr against WC and he showed some real toughness in that game but was dropped for the next...

Interesting Round.

tough situation for the boys this week. if they come out and smash melbourne then they meet expectations. we are playing the bottom team - finals teams dont lose to bottom 4 sides. on the other hand if they do lose then all hell breaks loose. something we are fairly used to down stkilda way. best re...

would love to see Gwilt given a shot on a HFF in place of C. Gardiner. McQualter given a chance to play midfield without tagging. Ferg a shot in the frwd line to add some pressure and marking power. Geary/Armitage should not be dropped again this year unless extreme poor form. From what Iv seen from...

If you were Ross Lyon......

After reading many threads on where Ross has gone wrong, I wanted to get everyones thoughts on what they'd do in his shoes. Here was my list: 1. Armitage and Allen (CHF) to play every game unless injured. 2. Geary to be given every opportunity to play in the Gram role. 3. Howard to get some games in...

Difficult Season

Just wanted to say hi to everyone.
Have been a long time viewer of this forum and enjoyed reading many threads over the past couple of years.
Most, but not all, seem to have very considered opinions. Its another difficult season to be a Saints fan but hopefully we can turn this around.
