Yeah the guy could hardly put weight on it. You'd think common sense would prevail.

As someone mentioned, he's just a bloody good footballer! Back, forward, ruck... I trust he'll get the job done.

I thought Melbourne were caught holding the ball at least three or four times in the first five minutes! None were called

Re: Dougal

Ch7 says he got 28 touches? 2 very important points. 1- He's quick but several times his direct opponent got 10m start on him, and he was beaten one-on-one several times, body on body. (Which segues into point 2) 2. His great saving park marks were 100% facilitated by Wilkie putting body on the Dee...

Re: Has the AFL got the nerve

Q How do you distinguish an intelligent umpire from a stupid umpire. A. A stupid umpire will call "move it ON" before calling "play ON" An intelligent umpire recognises that with crowd noise players may not hear every word the umpire utters. Instead the intelligent umpire will c...

Re: Match Thread Saints v Giants Round 1 2021

GWS 29 - 14 STK free kicks.... FFS the Butler free didn't cost them the game! Secondly, GWS were gifted shots on goal from dodgy frees. Thirdly, if Butler's tackle was in the middle of the ground no one would care, this kind of tackle happens plenty of times a week and gets paid, only being a shot o...

Re: Has the AFL got the nerve

Nothing against said ump in particular, but I think too many umps just aren't the best. Inventing free kicks and crumbling mentally to home crowds is the worst. 29 - 14 frees today, it's the same crap every year. Last year without the crowds we nearly broke even for the season! Firstly, the AFL crea...

Cattle or not, the system is still bad. We could have the best 20 players in the league, we'd still be kicking wide. Whether instructed to or not, it still hasn't been fixed.

Re: 2nd oldest list / oldest list

Using average age is a not a good way to look at a list. Median is far more appropriate. If Ryder, Frawley and Geary were not on the list and replaced by three 18 year olds we would become closer to the youngest list in the competition. This. Averages are used everywhere and most of the time it isn...

Re: 45 degree kick

If the rule creates a more attacking style of game with more scoring or scoring potential then isn't that a good thing. Why not the umpire just gift the ball to players inside 50 for shots at goal? That's way more scoring potential. Some muppet at the AFL trying to justify his job and wage.

The term "relocation" is anything but. It's a death sentence, just ask South Melbourne and Fitzroy. A way of cutting off the weakest to spread the religion. All about the money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money. Tassie ...

At the time, he was good around the ground but a rubbish tap ruckman. I saw him more as a very good key position player, not a dominant ruckman.

Seb would be a great midfield rotation/depth player. But he would want more dollars and gametime than where we're heading.

I’m officially putting Ben King back on the agenda. Would explain the lack of urgency around keeping Carlisle. Re: Bombers trying to poach Caldwell

I don't think anyone WANTS to go to Essendon, only if they have nowhere else to go. If a player chooses Essendon over 'club B', you have to question their mentality and we don't want them. Same with the Roos.
